This was incredibly easy to install and well engineered. I was skeptical that it would work, but I just plugged in my two monitors and connected it to one of my graphics card VGA outputs (an ATI Radeon HD2400) ... and voila! It worked ... and I now have a 3 monitor system. I am not using high end graphics ... just spreadsheets and real time data ... but I was impressed and surprised. This is a winner ... Good Job Matrox!!!

Honestly, I am very disappointed. I downloaded their test software first to make sure my computer system to be compatible with their product. The test result was pass! So I decided to go ahead to spend 180 dollars for this tool. I was very excited when I received, but my mood was cool down after I spent 1 hour in setup trying to get the right resolution. No matter what I tried, the best resolution I get is 2048 X 768 and this hurts my eyes. It is not like what they claimed: up to 2560X1024. I can't figure out why until I found A SINGLE LINE in their user manual: their product doesn't work with Intel graphica card for the best resolution, the best you can get is 2048X768! Thanks to tell me now after I passed their test, spent hundred dollars, and hours for setup! I want to return it, but after I read some unhappy return stories on Amazon, I am not sure if I can get my return..wish my luck:(

I have been waiting for Matrox or some quality video vendor to make dual or triple monitors available for the laptop user. The DualHead2Go unit exceeds my expectations in every area.
My current setup uses the laptop screen and two 17" monitors all running at 1280 X 1024 with my Acer Ferrari 4000 AMD64 w/2GB ram laptop. Now if I can just get a laptop with 4GB of ram and two dual core 64 bit processors, I think I can justify this new technology wave to management:-)

I've had this product for two days and I like it so much that I'm already <b>considering upgrading to the TripleHead2Go</b>.

I use the DualHead2Go with my Dell laptop when I have the laptop parked at my desk. In this configuration I have a lot of screen real estate: the laptop screen and two 19" monitors.

I'm surprised, and delighted, that apps (e.g., Word, Outlook, etc.) know to maximize their windows to just one 19" monitor. I expected that, from the Windows OS perspective, the DualHead2Go would look like one large 2048x768 monitor. Windows Display Properties Settings screen indicates just that. But somehow <b>apps enlarge (i.e., maximize) windows to the limits of a single monitor</b>.

There is <b>one feature missing</b> from the DualHead2Go that I'd like: a 1536x1024 configuration option so that I can sit 2 monitors side-by-side in portrait mode. I can do this now but I have to pan up to get to the 2nd screen when it would most natural to pan left.

This worked as advertised. The installation was a snap. Although the documentation said it is really made for flat panel, I first tried using 1 flat panel and a CRT. It worked but the CRT seem to flicker (probably due to the 60 Hz refresh rate that it enforces) and was getting a black strip on one side of the flat panel. I got a second flat panel and it worked perfectly. I do notice some odd "halo" effects around some of the screen buttons, but it is minor.
