I'd needed to put more RAM on my PC anyway; just hadn't gotten around to it. Even more important was that I'd also begun to experience numerous crashes throughout the day: In the middle of a project, the computer would simply go black and reboot.
I ordered two 1GB RAM modules. Not only did it speed up operations, but the crashes have ceased completely.
With the good value, the rebate, the quick order fulfillment, and now a stable computer, I'm a happy camper...

This was the easiest upgrade anyone can make to help performance of their system. I moved one of the pair already installed (2X512) from slot 1 into slot 3 and installed the 1 GB board into slot 1. Powered up and it was "good to go".

Memory installed easily and kicked performance up considerably. Previously, computer was hanging, but no more...and all for $19.99 with rebate!
One downside...it took 13 days to arrive. Product itself is great, and Buy.com shipped right away, but Post Office was a real dud on delivery.

The product was shipped in a timely manner. Arrived in a very short tiem and was in fine shape. It is installed and working fine. I have purchased many itmes in the past from Buy.com and all are of fine quality and a reasonable price. However, I was shorcked to see an ad for the identical item just two (2) weeks later at a cheaper price. The rebates are $5.00 more on the exact same item. I had 512mg of high priced 512mg ocz pc-2700 cas 2 in my home build.(Build it in 2001) I was not sure if the new memory would work with it or at all. I popped it in, fired it up and it recognized it on the 1st boot. It works great with my ocz as well. So, I went from 512mg to 1,512mg and it's a big difference. This was the value memory and I can't tell the difference at all. It was very easy to install and works great.

Although Kingston's KVR333/1GR product is considered "generic" memory and for the "white box" market and Gateway advised against using it, it worked perfectly for me and definitely improved performance.
