5 of 5 Perfect for nursing students Tuesday, August 25, 2009 jemstone from San Diego, CA
I needed a backpack that could carry my life in it. As a nursing student, I need a lot of space for thick and heavy books and binders. I also like to simplify my life and eliminate the need for a purse, laptop bag, and lunch bag whenever I can. I finally came across the Synergy backpack and it does all that and more. It's amazing how much stuff I can cram in there and I'm still able to carry it. It definitely takes some of the load off. I'm a shorty, about 5', and I am able to carry it even with all the weight. As far as looks, I didn't want anything too flashy or bulky. I'm very happy with the way it looks on me. For those like me, who refuse to get a rolling backpack like all the other nursing students, this is a great alternative. In summary, it keeps life simple and organized, especially when you're on the go, and durable. What more could you ask for in a backpack?

5 of 5 Synergy over Maxxum Tuesday, August 18, 2009 JR from OKC, OK
I have used the Synergy for nearly a year for 15inch ThinkPad w/9 cell battery and it has performed flawlessly, with the only drawback being the space that really allows me to load it up (heavy). I also use the Maxxum (same size), but the Synergy has a better mix of zippers and compartments to organize your stuff AND FIND IT. Great quality materials and construction, quite comfortable to wear, even in HOT weather. Go the extra bucks and you will appreciate the extra features. If ever faced with the need to buy again, this would be at the top of my list. Synergy replaced my Swiss Patriot wheeled computer case because it fits on Commuter jets. Buy.com has the best prices and they deliver FAST! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Awesome Backpack Monday, July 13, 2009 A Customer from Mitchell, SD
This backpack is durable enough to last through several school years. My two college age children have had theirs a couple of years and they look brand new, so my high schooler asked if he could have one also. Room enough for their laptops and schoolwork. We have had tremendous luck with this particular backpack. Will probably ultimately end up buying this particular one for the middle schooler also. Best price around by a long shot. 5 of 5 Excellent pack Sunday, June 21, 2009 Scott T from Clayton, Mi
I bought this pack to carry a computer, an assortment of cables and 15 pounds of hand tools for my job. It packs everything nicely with room to spare. The laptop is protected well from both outside and inside bumps. The carrying handle is very sturdy. I've been very pleased with this product so far.
Price at buy.com was the lowest I found in my search and the service was excellent. Was this review helpful?
1 of 1 customers found this review helpful. 5 of 5 Great for 18 months now Wednesday, June 10, 2009 Rich from Cambria, California
I've had this bag for at least 2 years, and traveled with it weekly for one of those years. Outstanding quality of construction and made to handle heavy loads. I use it for my 13" Macbook, but it will easily hold a 15" or maybe 17". Nice padded handle and shoulder straps (handle is important for moving the bag around without having to use the straps--sometimes left off cheaper bags). I use this as a carry-on when flying, whether I take my laptop or not.
Lots of zippered compartments as well as several interior ones. Zippers are heavy duty. Has stiff bottom so it sits flat all the time. Only drawback is that I had trouble finding things because there were so many places to put them. Now I've got it down. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Great and durable product! Thursday, March 26, 2009 E. Huang from Chicago, IL
I used to have to carry my books in my backpack and my 15.4" widescreen (Dell Inspiron E1505) notebook in a separate messenger bag. I bought this backpack mainly because it was advertised with the capability to hold 15.4" notebooks, and when I actually tried it out, it worked beautifully. My laptop fits snugly inside and the pouch is surrounded by three full layers of foam for added protection. I can now safely carry my books and notebook to school, even when I'm riding my bike. This backpack has been one of the best purchases I've made. I'm extremely pleased with it. 5 out of 5 stars! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Excellent backpack and highly satisfied.. Friday, March 13, 2009 A Customer from Anaheim, CA
Wow!! It has so many pockets and fits lots of additional stuff along with laptop. No need to mess with small items now, I can organize my stuff in this backpack and travel around comfortably. Well organized design to store many items without causing any kind of damages to each other. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Best Laptop Backpack ever! Very Durable. Tuesday, February 24, 2009 Allen from Mason, Michigan
Pictures don't do this justice. This backpack is so comfortable and built tuff. The top handle has steel cable that runs through the padding so its not gonna ever rip or break. It stands upright when empty or fully loaded and will collapse to be thinner when not fully loaded. Plenty of room for all my books for school and has padding everywhere to protect the laptop and for a comfortable fit. Has lots of pockets and compartments. Holds my new Macbook perfectly. The straps also have elastic "shock absorbers" built in that absorb shock when walking so you don't have a pack thats bouncing around while u walk. I have my Macbook, digital camera, 4 classes worth of books and all notebooks that go with them, power cables, flash drives, 2 bottles of water, cell phone, penns, pencils, a hat and gloves and stil plenty of room for more. Exactly what I wanted and more. Arrived quickly by fed-ex. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Excellent backpack! Tuesday, February 17, 2009 A Customer from Turlock, California
The other reviews are accurate: this is one fantastic backpack. Plenty of pockets, durable materials, and room to spare. I use it to carry my 14" Lenovo ThinkPad T400 (with 9-cell extended battery); it fits perfectly with plenty of clearance. I am amazed at how heavy this backpack is—loaded or unloaded—yet it doesn't feel nearly as heavy when I'm wearing it. What a marvel of design! Note that some 15" notebooks create a tight fit in the computer pocket: my brother's 15.4" ThinkPad T61p barely fits. If anyone is deciding between this backpack and the Maxxum, know that the bottom exterior of the Synergy is slightly more rugged. Also, the computer pocket is no longer a "Comp-U-Flex" pocket. It now uses a velcro, elastic strap (instead of a plastic buckle), has padding all the way around (except at the very top), and lacks the elastic strip down the middle and the elastic rim featured in the Comp-U-Flex design. 5 of 5 Best Bookbag I could find! Sunday, February 15, 2009 Chris from Dayton, OH
I did a lot of comparison shopping and looked at quite a few book bags until I finally decided on this is one due to its size and positive reviews. I have to say I am 100% satisfied with this bag. I am a 41 year old returning to college student and have to carry many large and very heavy books along with a 15.4" Toshiba Laptop up and down many steps and this bag handles it well. The Synergy is extremely durable with tons of compartments and lots of space. It has very comfortable arm straps with thick padding for your back as well. The bottom is made from a very tough material that is waterproof so you don't have to worry about setting the bag down. It also has a heavy duty nylon coated cable handle at the top to pick up or carry the bag. I have to say, it is constructed better than any other bag I have seen and I definitely looked at quite a few. Some people complain about the weight, but honestly how do you expect a bag to be this large and be built of extremely durable materials to handle all the punishment they go through without having a little bit of mass to it. It is really not that bad. Lightweight usually equals cheap materials and construction and will typically fall apart. I purchased the Synergy from buy.com for about $50 which is far below anyone else's price. Most wanted $85-$100 for this bag. I can't say enough about the Synergy. I really haven't seen anything that equals it. You won't be disappointed! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 great bag Thursday, February 05, 2009 roy from MI
This is a great bag. as somebody said it is Build like a tank and I can get my stuff organized at last. However, to lug this around every day is a chore. It is heavy!! if you only have a little bit of stuff you should think about a smaller one. And the capacity is never enough for my textbooks. It isn't as big as it looks like. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 So close to perfection... Friday, January 30, 2009 Paul from Morgan Hill, CA
I would say there is one thing this backpack needs to make it perfect, and that's to work with an ultraportable laptop. As with nearly all backpacks, the laptop compartment is too large for my Dell D420, which, even with the extra large battery, still fits rather loosely in the laptop compartment.
I wish they made a similar 'day pack' version of this back pack because on many longer trips I prefer to have my 'mobile command center' with me, but on one and two day trips, I really want something small, but with all the same quality as this back pack.
Lastly, I wish someone would make a line of backpacks that are plain looking, but with all the nice features of this backpack. I prefer to not have a backpack that screams, "valuable laptop inside." Jansport, you listening? Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Great backpack Monday, January 26, 2009 GM from Chicago, IL
I have used several backpacks for laptops and this is my first Wegner product and not sure why I didn't buy one sooner. Fits a lot of stuff when needed and doesn't hurt your back when carrying. The quality of the backpack is very good and put together very well. Was this review helpful?

I've been buying backpacks for my daughter for quite a few years.Bought this one for me, cause I'm back in school.Plenty of room for 2-3 books,my laptop & extra stuff. It's well padded & quite comfortable!!Have paid more than and less than the cost of this Synergy. But,I have yet to buy one as sturdy, functional and sharp looking, for any price. One of zippers has slight catch in it,but no big deal.Buy this! 1 of 1 customers found this review helpful. 5 of 5 Its Great!!! But a bit heavy!! Tuesday, January 20, 2009 SS from Pennsylvania
Greaaaaat BAG. Its not a BAG. Its a LOAD Carrier. Takes on enormous loads. I almost stuffed it inside out and teared it apart with books and all kinds of items and it survived.!! Has great material used to hold things in place. And is quite waterproof. I liked its rugged bottom which is quite resistant to scratches and tear. Easily washable bottom too. ONLY DRAWBACK I felt is that without any stuff also or simply unloaded, its basic weight is a bit too much as compared to other backpacks from say SWISS GEAR or other companies. So even if you have just your gloves kept in it and are carrying it, it feels like you are carrying a lot already. Shoulder and back pads are very comfortable! Laptop fits snugly. I would have personally liked two zippers on each pocket for flexibility but the smaller ones in the front have just one each. But that's OK once you get along. Rest it's perfectly fine and I would recommend it to anybody who wants something that can carry a lot of load, wont tear, wont get immediately wet in the snow or rain and can take some beating! Hahaha..... can say I got my money's worth. Was this review helpful?

I couldnt believe when I emptied my briefcase into the backpack and still had plenty of room left over; all the pockets and compartments made my leather briefcase appear inadequate. 5 of 5 Great Bag!!!! Monday, January 05, 2009 Staci from Spartanburg, South Carolina
I bought this bag for my husband as a Christmas present and it was the best present he got. His Mac fits perfectly and he loves all the cubby holes. The best part is that is stands up on it's own and doesn't fall over!!!! He loves the fact that it has a lifetime warranty as well. He just can't stop raving about it. Great job Swiss Army!!! 5 of 5 Excellent for daily use and travel Thursday, November 13, 2008 A Customer from Dayton, Ohio
I frequently travel long business trips. And I use my back daily to and from work. The Synergy is strong and durable. It is also well organized - small pocket for pencils, calculator, etc, then a larger one slightly larger items like mouse, ipod, etc., then a very large one that could hold books and binders but I actually use for sport water bottles, fruit and lunch, then another large pocket for laptop and documents and files, 2 large water bottle side pockets and a few more smaller zipper pockets to quickly stash cell phones and watch at airports. I like that there is an easy to reach place for everything. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Best of the lot Tuesday, November 11, 2008 RKC from Columbus, OH
I am completely satisfied with the backpack. I am very choosy when it comes to accessories. But, this one answers all the questions asked of it very well. It looks good, strong (well-built with good materials) and has enough room and compartments to be able to fit in lot of stuff (apart from the 15.4" laptop, ofcourse) and still stay organized. 5 of 5 More pockets than I know what to do with! Monday, November 03, 2008 John from Aurora, IL
More pockets than I know what to do with! A great laptop backpack to be sure. There are so many pockets you can have one for your camera, your vitamins, your power adapter, your broadband card, your pens and pencils, your laptop, each of your lab notebook(s), and there are still more than half a dozen left over. Each critical pocket is padded nicely (laptop and camera are two). The comfort on the back is unsurpassed, and it feels like I hardly am carrying anything when it is there. The zippers are very sturdy and industrial strength. Everything on this bag appears very rugged and built to last for the long term. I'm quite pleased with my purchase to say the very least and highly recommend this laptop bag to others. I'll never go back to the shoulder strap piece of junk that Dell supplies with their laptops. 5 of 5 Simply the best Friday, October 17, 2008 A Customer from Goffstown, NH
I purchased this backpack after I had already purchased another manufactures bag that was about $10-20 cheaper than this particular bag (at the time). I used the other bag for several months and became increasingly disappointed with it. So I purchased the Wenger Synergy Laptop Backpack and as expected I absolutely love it. It's designed with the traveler in mind (and I travel a lot for work!) and there is no detail left untouched. Most importantly is the easy access to your laptop with it's own dedicated pocket/zipper. The Straps are ultra comfortable, especially when the bag is loaded. Go with the best and buy this bag, you will not regret it. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Amazing, fantasical piece of tech Tuesday, October 14, 2008 Engineering undergrad from La Jolla, CA
I love this backpack. My previous on was a regular Jansport, no laptop sleeve, but besides that point, I am an engineering undergrad and this pack makes carrying 30lbs of books/supplies/etc less strainful. The only downside is there is lots of pockets, great for organizing, but you forget which pocket what is in which, some can take is a good, but I like to know where it is fast and quick. 5 of 5 Absolutely Fabulous Monday, September 29, 2008 b from houston, tx
Best backpack ever. My favorite feature is the quick access pocket which is large enough for your cell phone, reading glasses, wallet and mp3.. all within easy reach. Lots of large pockets and compartments..even the 2 water bottle pockets are perfectly sized and shaped to hold your water bottles. The only negative is that everyone is carrying one.. so you need to careful which one you grab when you get off of the plane. I definitely recommend this backpack to anyone that travels a lot. 5 of 5 Great Pack at a Great Price Wednesday, September 24, 2008 A Customer from Duluth, GA
The quality of this pack is fantastic. The main strap/handle is really strong; actually looks like a bike cable lock. The protection for the laptop is excellent. I was going to get a neoprene sleeve but it is unnecessary. I have tons of stuff in it and it feels lighter than when I had used my smaller traditional laptop case. Excellent product.
Oh, also the free shipping was REALLY fast! Had this at my door within 4 days of ordering! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Good Pack Tuesday, September 23, 2008 A Customer from Grand Rapids, MI
I think this is a great pack overall. The only criticism I have is that it isn't as big as I thought it was. It is still very roomy however and much more comfortable than expected. In fact, it is extremely comfortable. The organization is great especially the side pockets (behind the mesh). Look forward to testing the durability when I pass it on to my wife who has a knack for being rough on things. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 Bad chest strap... Everything else is good... Friday, September 19, 2008 Prashanth Mukkala from Bear, DE
I like everything about this backpack except the chest strap, which just sits there even when you are not using it which makes it look not as good as the backpack actually is. And what more you can't really change the position of the chest strap much as it can be moved only within the loop & the biggest problem is that the chest strap is not removable, which i don't like at all.
Apart from those, there are lot of other things about this backpack..., there are plenty of pockets, stands upright, the organization of pockets is nice.., the padding is good.., the shock absorber shoulder straps are tough & strong..., it has couple of bottle holder pockets and it looks good...
Overall, i am happy with this purchase except with the chest strap mess that Wenger managed to include in this. Was this review helpful?
