Building on the legacy of the highly popular X550 router, ZyXEL’s new X550NH High-Gain Gigabit Wireless N router with 3-vane external antenna features up to 300 Mbps wireless data rate along with MIMO extended range technology. By combining the latest wireless N technology with an award winning 6 dBi high-gain antenna tower, the new X550NH provides even higher wireless connection speed and better coverage. With ZyXEL’s MBMv2 (Media Bandwidth Management) technology, the X550NH automatically assigns different priorities to different broadband traffic usage, reducing latency and boosting network efficiency for optimal performance. When using the X550NH for simultaneous online gaming, VoIP and other Internet applications, the Automatic Traffic Classifier feature of the MBM v2 prioritizes broadband usage, delivering an optimal user experience. The X550NH is also backwards compatible with standard IEEE 802.11b/g Wi-Fi Networks

5 of 5 Better Than i thought Monday, April 20, 2009
A Customer from Brooklyn, NY

Great router!!!! For wireless and for gateway can't be beat(for the price). The bandwidth i get on the wireless compares to some direct connections. Three antennas do their job, and do it well!!The firewall built in is a plus. The wizard makes it easy to setup for beginners. Never buying a netgear or linksys again. Make sure to do the firmware update. It fixed every bug i found with it. No more dropping of network on wireless and no security issues with it too.

4 of 5 Got a defective one. Tuesday, December 16, 2008
A Customer from New Britain, CT
My whole network consists of Zyxel. File wall “2 plus”, 16 port switch, 2 x550 in Access Point modes for wireless. I replaced one of the x550 with the new x550nh. I love Zyxel products and I wanted gigabyte and 802.11n from the new x550n. The item was very easy to setup. I set it to access point, set up my security. However every 5-15 minutes I would get disconnected from WiFi for a second. In normal web browning it’s hardly noticeable, but it is while playing online games like WOW and copying files over. The copying stops and can not be re initiated, I have to restart it or wait 10 minutes. The connection is dropped on 3 laptops for a second. 802.11b (Ubuntu 8.10), 802.11g (Vista), 802.11n (Ubutnu 8.10/Vista). Wired network seems to be fine, no drop off, however the unit itself froze on me 2 times (in 2 days), to the point I had to reset it and setup it up again. It doesn’t remember the time I set and defaults to midnight every so often. It also seems to be warmer then a unit like that should be. I never had problems like this with my x550 and it has never been that warm to the touch. I’m guessing this one is defective and I have RMI’ed it for replacement.
