I'm unable to scale this particular product, though I'm familar with earlier models that seem to work fine. However, as an Amateur Extra Class FCC licensed amateur radio operator, from the specs it seems clear that this adaptor will blanket 5,000 square feet of radio noise in the 2-30 mHz radio spectrum. That is the same spectrum assigned not only for amateur radio operators .. who some call hobbyists & in disasters call them their life-line to the outside world -- but it is also the spectrum for shortwave broadcasting reception .. so hopefully you won't intrude on a neighbor with in YOUR 5,000 square foot coverage that will blanket all radio coverage within that area. I wanted to avoid installing wires. Price was right and it was so easy to set up - just plugged it in and it worked. However, it does not work reliably. I used it to connect an upstairs computer to a downstairs ADSL connection, and it only worked sporadically. I tried the obvious things, like turning off all appliances, but the problem only got worse over time. After a few weeks the connection only seemed to work in one direction. Finally I gave up and replaced it with a 15 meter ethernet cable. That cost about $15 and works perfectly. I just don't feel like spending more hours trying to diagnose the problem or replacing a faulty box. It just does not seem worth the effort for a $60 item. Was this review helpful?
