4 of 5 Great for the price Thursday, April 23, 2009
kncjr from Dayton, OH

I bought this unit to use as a bridge to connect my new TV and Blu-Ray player. I tried to set it up myself and failed. I called the help desk and even though it took at least 45 minutes for the tech to walk me through the process of setting it up, it worked perfectly once done. There is no way that I could have changed all the settings on my own based on the instructions. That being said it is really a good deal if you need to connect more than one device wirelessly.

5 of 5 Bridging upstairs and down, wirelessly Tuesday, December 09, 2008
Richard from Cypress, TX
I have an existing wireless network upstairs and tried using cheap $15 wireless keys, but burned up two of them already. I needed an external wireless solution to connect to downstairs. I configured the P330W to be a "dumb" wireless bridge and it is working great. Now my PC connects via its CAT5 cable to the P330W, then the P330W bridges that connection wirelessly to my existing wireless network and picks up an IP. Note: As part of the configuration I performed, the P330W no longer had the static IP, but rather got an IP from my existing network. Now I can plug in multiple devices to my network wirelessly - all that is required is a standard CAT5/RJ45 connection for each device.

5 of 5 Zyxel P330W Is Awesome Monday, August 18, 2008
A Customer from OREM, UT
I have used a Zyxel P330W for a year or two and love the product. My sister wanted wireless in her house so I purchased this one for her. The unit is stable. It runs for months and months without a reboot.

5 of 5 Great Wireless Router Monday, July 28, 2008
chwebb from Yorktown, VA
I bought this router to replace a Linksys router that breaks about every five minutes (I've had five over 2 years, all replaced under warranty for the SAME ROUTER) and it worked great while I used it for that purpose. I was able to get the Linksys router working again, so I am now using this device as a wireless bridge for my HP OfficeJet Pro K5400dtn. While my network is more complicated than most people's, this router works great as both a wireless router and a wireless bridge, with or without encryption, and works great with the Mac OS. While wireless networking may not be for people who are not adept with technology, I believe that anyone could set up this router. ZyXEL also has good (American based!) customer service. This was not the first ZyXEL router I have used, but when my Linksys router does fail again, I will be replacing it with a ZyXEL branded router. They make really good networking equipment. You will not be disappointed.

5 of 5 ALL IS WELL THAT ENDS WELL Thursday, July 24, 2008
Phillip Anderson from Fayetteville, GA
Like most computer equipment I purchase, this wireless router wasn't an instant success. The URL in the manual to access the wireless security coding wasn't what worked. However I managed to find the correct URL. There was a speed problem but their customer support told me to download and install the latest firmware. Everything is working great now.

2 of 5 Nope. Not that easy Saturday, July 19, 2008
twiztor from Blacksburg, VA
ZyXel Router. looked great. compact. cheap. those are the main reasons I bought it. But then, it arrives taking me weeks to install it. the software that comes with isn't free. the default setting are done over the internet. I followed the manual several times to set it up. not yet working for me. I'm browsing the net with cable still plugged in. I'm looking for articles online how to set it up. It's been over a week. Think about that before you buy it. Not recommended. You need to know a lot on wireless networking to set this sucker up! i say, DON'T BUY THIS. get a linksys or else.

1 of 5 Poor Choice Friday, July 04, 2008
A Customer from Columbus OH
I added this to a network and found the upload performance abysmal. This was using the wired port to upload large files for a client . File sizes in excess of 100MB at times. The unit would start the upload and then just stop transferring at about 50MB. I finally ditched it for a Linksys . My upload issue disappeared. Save your money for something better.

1 of 5 Dont waste on this rubbish product Thursday, July 03, 2008
tushar from Atlanta GA
I have bad experience when connecting to vpn server. not satisfied with support. EVEN MAIL IN REBATE will not come!!! I bought this router about7 months ago and it stopped working two weeks later. It not only doesn't work for wireless access but it also cancels my internet access for my main computer connected to the modem. I spent 45 minutes on the phone with a technician from the company and could not get it working again. I had to ship it back to the company for maintanence and they sent it back to me 3 weeks later with no description of what they did or even if they had a similar problem. I reinstalled it and it is still not working. I would not recommend this product. Then I got Trendnet and my colleage Linksys- bothare gr8

5 of 5 Worked for me, eventually Thursday, July 03, 2008
A Customer from Phoenix, AZ
This was my first wireless router. Much of my trouble with setup, I am sure, was due to inexperience. I bought it because it is amazingly [inexpensive] and because I had purchased a Nokia N800 internet tablet with wifi from Buy.com as well and wanted to use my N800 in my apartment, and they both operate at 54Mbps. In early January of 2008 I carefully followed the instructions to update the firmware, hook up the cables, install Network Magic and set up the wireless through IE. The install took about 30 minutes by the book, and I got a wireless connection right away. However, the router kept malfunctioning, dropping the connection, necessitating numerous resets each time to restore the signal, at least once a day, sometimes more. I tried reinstalling it several times by the book, and when that failed, researched wireless routers online to see if I could figure out what was wrong, but got no satisfaction. Eventually, end of January, I called the Zyxel help line. The first Zyxel guy tried to talk me through Network Magic, but was little help as I had already done everything he instructed me to do. The next Zyxel help line guy advised me to uninstall and forget about Network Magic, set up the ping through IE and turn on at least the WEP, so I did it. It's now July and I have not had to reset it or had any problems at all with it since. The signal never drops now. Once again, much of my trouble was doubtless due to my inexperience. Apparently, I was making it harder than it needed to be by not just hooking up the hardware, installing the latest firmware and setting it up through IE. Now I am considering turning off the WEP and leaving it open for public use during the day, although I have been told this might affect stability. Range is pretty good, but not great, as expected. Unit does get hot, so don't stack it on other heat-generating equipment.

4 of 5 Stable router once setup Wednesday, June 25, 2008
A Customer from Reston, VA
I bought two of these. Based on the other reviews, before configuring, I updated the firmware just in case. One router went fine, one was a little touch-n-go, but that could have been user error by refreshing a page too quickly. Regardless, firmware upgrade went smoothly and the setup wizard was OK.
I've configured many routers in my and other's homes (not a pro however) and this interface was bare bones, but plenty capable, IF you know what you're looking at. There's little to no documentation or help, but there's a surprising amount of configurability once you're there, which is nice.
Another plus is it seems to work significantly better with Vista then the netgear router it replaced (netgear crapped out).
Also, once it was configured and up and running, its been very stable, which, compared to the netgear, is a huge improvement. Overall, if you are comfortable/capable to get it configured, I think you will be pleased. Coverage seems adequate, but not best-in-breed.

5 of 5 Best Router I have owned! Sunday, May 18, 2008
Rich from New York
I was a bit skeptical after reading other reviews on this procuct. However, I purchased it anyways, and have not had a single problem since installing it. I have used several other routers, such as D-link, Netgear N1, and Lynksis CISCO, all of which had frequent disconnects or had other conflicts. This offbrand ZyXEL has by far performed the best. Install was cake. Plug in, power cycle modem and router, BAM! Done. Some options in the config are a bit confusing, but Google is a great tool to use. I HIGHLY suggest purchasing this!

5 of 5 Great as a bridge Sunday, April 06, 2008
Nick from Florida
I am currently using this a Wireless G bridge to connect my desktop and other things on my desk (printer, VOIP converter, etc.) to my Wireless Network. It works flawlessly. Directions: Make sure SSID broadcast is on in your other router/access point Turn off the DHCP server (may not be necessary but can’t hurt anything). Set its LAN address to a non conflicting IP address on the same subnet as your router. Set its SSID to the same as your router Set its WPA key to be the same as the router Set it to bridge mode Set it to client mode You do not want to disable the access point. Go into site survey Select your site/SSID Click on connect. Once it has successfully connected it will automatically reconnect when you turn its power on.

5 of 5 So Good, Bought Another One Monday, March 03, 2008
Mark from Tampa
I enjoyed the first so much (use for living room XBOX/Wii/laptop connections), I bought another one to go upstairs. I have two APs, I bridged both of them now, I figured for sure I'd blow up the house, but they BOTH work at the same time.

5 of 5 Very Happy! Sunday, February 17, 2008
Rod from Fargo, ND
This router was recommended to me by a networking professional (Thanks, Jack-MVP!!) who said it was a great router at a decent price. He was right! It was quick to set up, has a nice interface, and has been rock-solid since I hooked it up. Since the router worked so well, I also bought a Zyxel wireless PCI card for my laptop and that's been perfect as well. This replaces an old 802.11b setup. Now, I have better encryption plus solid 54Mbps network speed! Definitely would recommend to anybody looking for a good router.

4 of 5 Use as a Wireless connecter Monday, December 03, 2007
Russ from San Diego
I use this as a connecter for my ReplayTV, but could also be used as a connecter for Media center or XBox. Setup is a little tricky but I was able to get it working after some reading in the pdf from ZyXel. I have only had to reboot once in the 6 months that I've had it.

3 of 5 Works okay...but required firmware upgrade. Thursday, November 29, 2007
A Customer from Porter, TX
I had an issue right out of the box. Some web pages loaded okay, but others hung up erratically. It had me baffled for several hours, but I finally checked the Zyxel website for a firmware update. The firmware on the router seemed to be up to date with the same version listed on the website, so I continued to troubleshoot to no avail. I then decided to reflash the current firmware thinking it might be corrupted. After downloading the latest firmware, I discovered the website version was actually an updated version of the same version! The website had version 1.8 but the router had version 1.8 (b). I couldn't believe it, but the router actually had a beta version of 1.8 installed!! Why Zyxel would ship a new router with a beta firmware installed is ridiculous and unacceptable. It caused me a lot of aggravation. I flashed the firmware and the issue was resolved. The signal range was acceptable and had good stability. Other than the firmware issue, I would recommend the router......

5 of 5 So far, so good Wednesday, November 28, 2007

5 of 5 Zyxel P-330W is GREAT Tuesday, November 27, 2007
A Customer from SLC, UT
This wireless router is awesome. I use one for my wireless access in my home. I use another pair of them and 2 cantennas to link together 2 homes that are down the road from each other. I get at least 6mbps thru the cantennas and probably a lot more! These things are solid; I hardly ever need to reboot them. No complaints at all, only praise.

5 of 5 Great Wireless Router and Bridge Friday, October 12, 2007
Mark T. from Woburn, MA
This is an excellent device, very good value for money when the rebate is factored in (usually around $20 total). The fact that this device can also be utilized as a wireless bridge makes this an outstanding value. I usually keep an extra one around for when someone asks for assistance in setting up a home network that needs a bridge in the topology (den to living room for consoles, for instance).

2 of 5 Check this out.. Tuesday, September 25, 2007
chandra from Lansing, MI
Although this is an excellent value for money, I did have a real tough time to configure it. The customer support was really helpful, I should say. Unfortunately, they did their level best but could not end solving my case. Apparently the set-up and performance could depend on the type of internet connection used and hence possibly did not work well with mine which happens to be a COMCAST cable high speed connection. Now I have a more costly alternative which does work satisfactorily so far..

5 of 5 Wireless Bridge Friday, September 14, 2007
Russ from San Diego
I use this for my ReplayTV and it works great! It took a little to get it set up as a bridge, but it is a great cheap solution. So if you don't want to spend the $100 bucks for the XBox 360 adapter or $100 to extend your wireless you can get this and it will work.

4 of 5 Don't update firmware Monday, August 13, 2007
A Customer from St. Cloud, FL
Unit worked fine for months until I decided to update the firmware and turn on wireless security. Unit became totally unreliable and had to be unplugged and restarted a couple times a day to enable clients to get to the internet. I had to turn off wirelss security and go to an older firmware release to return reliability. I now use mac address filtering for security and that seems to work.

Mass from spring Valley, NY
Had router for about 6 months and the range is great. Can receive good to excellent signal anywhere in the house including outside. Easy setup. Only negative would be the need to reset router every so often. All it takes is about 20 sec to reset. Overall a great product!
