2 of 5 do not get sucked in by the low price Friday, May 29, 2009 Julia from NYC
Every two days it disconnects you from the internet (my computer is always on), and the only way to "fix" it is to unplug the router and the modem, and them plug them back in.
This was inconvenient enough for me personally to return it. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Good for the Money Thursday, May 14, 2009 A Customer from Dahlonega, GA
I bought this system for my Mom for her birthday. The set up was a bit more difficult than expected, and the help line is a UK phone number. After we finally got it set up, it works really well. The house we set in up in is pretty small. If you are looking for a system, please understand that this one may not have a far range. The price is absolutely right, and it is well worth what we paid for it. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Works great, BUT a difficult hookup Monday, April 13, 2009 A Customer from Wisconsin
Once I finally got enough information off the internet to get this router working. Setting up the security was simple, but I couldn't get a connection following the instructions. I found that because my DSL modem was also a router (Westell 6100) that I had to use the Zyxel as a switch instead of a router. My ethernet line had to be plugged into one of the LAN ports, instead of the WAN port. I was then able to run an ethernet cable to my PC from another LAN port on the Zyxel to make it work. My wireless also then worked with my Lap top. I'm not real computer literate so this took me quite a while to figure out. The Zyxel now works great. Very strong signal in my home and no disconnects or other problems. I hope this explaination makes sense and maybe helps other people in making the Zyxel work. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Works great once set up Sunday, April 12, 2009 Speedtrain from PA, railroaders
I almost sent this back, I was very frustrated for a few hours trying to set this up. My ISP (Verizon) uses the default gateway IP which is 192.168.1.1 so everytime I connected the WAN to Verizon's modem everything would mess up, even my nic card in the computer would mess up and disable itself! After a few hours of pulling my hair out as a last resort I changed the the routers IP to 192.168.0.1 and bingo, everything is now working just fine! The product is good, works good, very cheap with rebate. I wish the instructions would have directed me to change the IP, but other than that a very nice router. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Great value Saturday, April 11, 2009 Tom from Chicago, IL
The setup is really easy for home computer. Since I have to logon to company system through VPN, I have to play around with some setting. Other than that, the router is great for the money. This is a great router for regular home internet connection. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 great product for the price Monday, April 06, 2009 melwin vaz., from albuquerque, nm
initially, i wasn't sure about this product. i was looking for a cheap and reliable product for short period as things keep changing. there is no use of buying hi end routers for home unless you are into downloading too much stuff. i thought of trying it, after reading the review from the people who bought this product. this product works so fine that you can't complain. the only time consuming was the installation. but if you read the manual very carefully and do it many times you will get the hang of it. it took me about 20mins to get it right. not bad at all for the price. i would recommend this product to anyone from begginers to medium people. it has a bonus adapter too which is helpful,if you have two computers or one laptop and one desktop. this adapter is good enough. its more than a month since i have been using it and i did not have any problem till today. 5 of 5 Dual SSID Is Great Friday, April 03, 2009 A Customer from Janesville, WI
I'd been looking for a replacement router and didn't want to go with a draft N standard. I saw this one at a great price and was intrigued by the dual SSID feature. It required a firmware upgrade to enable that functionality, but once enabled it works great - I can now isolate my main network from a guest network. Configuration wasn't as easy as some routers I've used, but no real problems. The USB adapter was a nice plus, and I used it to get my Wii connected. Highly recommended! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Works good - great value Friday, April 03, 2009 Keith from Los Angeles, CA
I bought this only because it was so cheap and came with the free USB adapter. Plugged it in and worked like a charm. The encryption set up for the wireless was a little different than other routers I have set up before but manageable. If you don't have the big need for wireless N (which most of us don't), why pay more than this? It works. If you are just looking to set up your first wireless system or retire/replace an old one, look no further. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Awesome router for the pice Monday, March 30, 2009 A Customer from Troy, MI
Settings it up was a little weird but I eventually figured it out ... I had to play around with the settings... not as easy as Linksys!
Now that it all works, it's good... I have a problem with my laptop that has an N draft card... it's slow to start a download!
Other than that, it's perfect. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Excellent value for ZyXEL Wireless Sunday, March 29, 2009 Mike from Lexington, KY
Even without additional $10 rebate the price of this product is excellent. Installation was a snap and it has performed well. So impressed I bought an extra one to hold as a spare (or a good friend in need) Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Works For Me Sunday, March 29, 2009 Mark Weber from Annandale, VA
C'mon, they're commodity items. It works! And it looks good, works everywhere in the house including the basement which is two floors below the router. I like that it has the default parameters printed on the bottom (and a removable label on top) so you don't have to hunt down the manual if you ever have to reset it. Excellent setup menus and configuration. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 doesn't always save settings Wednesday, March 25, 2009 Jim Johnson from Laurium, MI
admittedly I have a more complex setup than most home networks. I run wi-fi security cameras through a secondary access point and need to securely reach parts (and only parts) of my home network across the Internet.
I am comfortable enough with routing and access points to figure all this out. However ZyXEL uses terminology closer to that used by commerical devices than home devices and does not fully explain things in its documentation - even the downloaded documentation. ZyXEL also tries to hide that their routers can be very finely tweaked via a terminal/command line method rather than the web interface. And the web interface doesn't always save the settings forcing a repeat. Once setup it works very well. Much faster than my older ZyXEL router.
I have not used the USB adapter. I am saving it for guests whose laptop does not support 'g' signals and WPA2 security. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 great wireless router! Thursday, March 19, 2009 A Customer from Denver, Co
I bought this to replace my cheesy trendnet. So much easier to setup, better signal, didn't take me more than 15mins and I'm up and running. Best bang for the buck! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Awesome router! Tuesday, March 17, 2009 Sophia S. from AL

1 of 1 customers found this review helpful. 5 of 5 Don't hesitate on this one - just buy it! Monday, March 16, 2009 Chris from Green Bay, WI
I've used NetGear, LinkSys, DLink and Belkin- and I prefer this one BY FAR to all of them. I did need to go to their website and download the latest firmware to get the Dual wireless network feature, but you should always update your firmware the first day you get a product- just to make sure you have all the available fixes. And a free USB wi-fi device to boot?
If you have an advanced network, download the manual from ZyXel and check out all the features. I'm VERY impressed...
Don't hesitate on this one - just buy it! Was this review helpful?

This wireless router is a good bang for the buck and gets excellent signal strength throughout the house. I installed it on the 2nd floor. The setup was straight forward and easy to follow with great security options. I tried the adapter just to set it up but decided to put it away and not take up a USB port on my home wired computer. We now have three wireless laptops on this new network. The router comes with 4 LAN ports if you already have wired computers in your home network.
I would strongly recommend this router for a novice to set up his home network.

5 of 5 This thing rocks Wednesday, February 25, 2009 Michael from Studio City, CA
This router had a simple set up out of the box and has great range and speed. I set it up in a home office separate from my main house and the range extends all across my property. The range appears to be superior to the new (much more expensive) D-Link that I purchased for the main house. This was an excellent buy at a great price! The included USB dongle thingy is an added bonus that I use on a spare laptop. It too works wonderfully. All in all, a great buy! Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Great router, Great price Wednesday, January 14, 2009 Joe Warren from Pitt, PA area
Been a linksys fan since 90's.. Because of the price, I picked this up for $20 to set up on In law's cheap broadband. The usb dongle was a plus, so I didn't have to run wires to Marmaduke's room.(their 35 year old unemployed, role playing, gaming, leach of a son). Before I got to set it up, my old linksys died and I hooked this up. Love the dual ssid feature, and the range is 20x that of my linksys. I can pick up an SSID signal and maintain a "good" connection from my basement, at the neighbor's house over 1500 feet away! I couldn't even use my linksys in my own garage without opening the steel door to the basement. My inlaw's will get my RMA'd linksys and I can still use the dongle for Marmaduke's pc! Setup was so easy a nearly blind monkey, or even a Raven's fan, could do it. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 Great router! No problemas! Monday, January 12, 2009 A Customer from NJ
When I bought this there was only 1 review, but it was a good deal so I figured that I would try it. It came quickly and I set it up on my boyfriend's desktop & then was able to connect w/out a problem after a restart of his computer. I don't quite understand the little USB adapter included but after setting up the desktop we were able to connect a laptop immediately. Great price and easy set up. Just be careful if you have the computer pick a security access code for you. It is hard to tell the difference between the letter O and the number 0! Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 BEST ROUTER EVER! SCREW NETGEAR Sunday, January 11, 2009 OSW from Michigan
5 Years ago I bought a NETGEAR router and it has caused me misery and sadness. It was so complex to use and unreliable. It never worked properly and kept dropping the signal. I decided to step outside the box and try this ZyXEL router since the reviews were out of this world. I was very pleased. I had the entire wireless network up and running in under 10 minutes. It was very user friendly and had color coded wires for easy setup. Very satisfied, I am a ZyXEL customer for LIFE! Was this review helpful?

4 of 5 So far so good... Saturday, January 03, 2009 Rando from Round Rock, TX
Bought this for cheap after rebate and have had it running now for about 2 weeks. I had some initial problems getting it to work properly with our Yahoo! DSL Speedstream 5100 modem, but after poking around the internet I found enough setup tips to get me going. I was having problems with dropped wired LAN connections. After finding the right LAN and WAN settings, the router has been working fine. I have 2 LAN connections, a Wii wireless connection with WPA2 security, and 2 Nintendo DS wireless connections on the Guest wireless with WEP security all running together! Very cool. I have the Guest WLAN bandwidth limited too. I haven't used the extra wireless adapter yet. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 So far so Good Tuesday, December 30, 2008 CM from Woodbridge VA
Only been 1 week, but no problems thus far. I tried to use the USB dongle on an old, old laptop without a CD reader and 1 USB port, that was a no go, but cant complain about that. The router is working good, and the WPS was nice with my new Canon printer. Never heard of this brand before, but now wont be afraid of it. Was this review helpful?
0 of 1 customers found this review helpful. 1 of 5 Cumbersome Wizard, Questionable Quality Monday, December 29, 2008 A Customer from San Diego, CA
The Configuration Wizard on this item requires 2 simultaneous browser screens and many steps not required by most other, more reputable brands. IF IT CONFIGURES you will probably be happy, but if it is stubborn you will waste many hours resetting, rebooting, and fighting the silly steps and inadequate troubleshooting guide. There are many better known brands with super simple, nearly automatic setups. Don't waste your time taking a chance on this one. Was this review helpful?

5 of 5 A Great Buy Sunday, December 28, 2008 Ron from Bronx NY
This router (nbg334w)by zyxel is an excellent bargin for the money.
The product worked perfectly right out of the box. Always remember when adding a router to an existing system to reboot all devices so that they will acquire the new router address.
The hookup was easy and the extra usb wireless adapter made this a great choice and I am satisfied with the purchase made several weeks ago. Ron 12-28-2008 Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Nice product for price! Sunday, December 28, 2008 tripleeric from Waukesha, WI
I have been a long time Linksys supporter, but came across this deal on buy.com for my in-laws. Setup was simple. Range was good. Quality seems good as well. I only paid $20 for the router and receiver and it is worth every penny. You can easily configure the same settings as any other router if you're looking for more features. If you are "thinking" of getting this unit...I recommend "thinking" quick..... Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Zyxel.. get the job done!! Thursday, December 25, 2008 Sheri from Philadelphia, Pa.

5 of 5 Dual wifi Monday, December 22, 2008 A Customer from San Francisco, California
The NBG334W is a stable router with dual wireless network capabilities. The secondary wireless network does not get access to your LAN. Wireless range is average. The included usb mac compatible adapter is a big plus. However, bandwidth management does a poor job of throttling. You cannot use variables. You have to know the ip address of the computer on the outside. I don't think you can use a port range either. It's a good stable router but it's bandwidth management feature pale in comparison to their higher end product like the X550. Was this review helpful?
