5 of 5 Great card, great price Monday, April 02, 2007 A Customer from Boston, MA
Buy.com, as usual, delivered a great product at a great price. The card was easy to install and worked as promised. I don't have plans for the internal FireWire and USB ports, but they are available for even more flexibility. Comes with a cable, and solved my digital video transfer issues in 5 minutes flat. 5 of 5 Just Works Monday, September 11, 2006 A Customer from Aliso Viejo, CA
I've installed a few of these type of products before on Windows XP. Usually, there's a problem or the functionality is spotty.
This product installed automatically (WinXP SP-2) and quickly. It's been perfect. The price was great, too. Was this review helpful?

I bought a used computer that only had USB 1.0 ports, so I bought this card for the fast transfer speeds of USB 2.0. The card installed easily and no extra software was required (I've got Windows XP, SP 2). Been using the USB 2.0 ports -- everything works great. Haven't had any occasion to use the Firewire ports, so I can't comment about how those work. I highly recommend this product. Was this review helpful?

Installed with XP easily, working fine, both USB and Firewire. With net cost of $5 after rebate, can't beat the value. Was this review helpful?

Working perfect on Windows2003 and XP pro SP2, no drivers needed, just plug the card and start the machine. No idea why some people are looking for the drivers on XP SP2. Was this review helpful?

This is such a wonderful product! It's so cheap and even comes with a free FireWire cable! I had no difficulties at all using it, and I have a Dell on Windows XP SP2. All you have to do is insert the PCI card. The drivers were auto-installed, so I could use it within minutes. Everything works fine. So easy! Similar products are much more expensive. The included user manual reads, "Due to legal issue, Microsoft EHCI drivers for Windows XP are not included inside this package. The setup program will redirect you to MS Windows Update to download the drivers instead."
I am running XP with SP2. The USB 2.0 drivers on the new www.v5.windowsupdate.microsoft.com are not available. I could not load the drivers and I am packing the card back up and sending it back today.
FYI - The IEEE 1394 (Firewire) port does install automatically, so if you are running pre-XP SP2 you might be able to install this card without any problem.
Good Luck! Was this review helpful?
