New Mexico, 1879, was a dry, forbidden landscape ruled by an unrelenting blue sky and violent bands of outlaws. A place where frontier-style justice was found hanging at the end of a rope; and where a wild-eyed young renegade named Billy The Kid staked his claim as the most notorious legend of the Old West. Emilio Estevez stars as William H. Bonny, a.k.a. Billy The Kid, the cocksure "boy bandit" who led a reign of terror during the infamous Lincoln County Wars. Now the county is ruled by ruthless cattle barons and crooked lawmen. They just hired Billy's one-time friend, Pat Garrett (William Petersen), to bring him to justice. With Garrett hot on his trail, the Kid joins up with his outlaw pals including Doc (Kiefer Sutherland), Chavez (Lou Diamond Phillips) and Arkansas Dave (Christian Slater). Together they battle trigger-happy lynch mobs and gunslingers as they blast their way to Old Mexico, and a final, violent showdown with destiny. With sweeping cinematography and a great contemporary soundtrack by Jon Bon Jovi, Young Guns II captures the beauty, romance and dangers of that great American myth known as the Wild West.

Billy, Doc and Chavez find themselves jailed in the same place and plan an escape. Together with new recruits, they head for the Mexican border not knowing that Billy's one-time friend now wears a badge and is leading a posse with one mission - get Billy the Kid.
