Easy to Set Up Setting up the Yamaha Digital Sound Projector is much easier than a conventional home theater system because multiple speakers and extra wiring are eliminated. Installation of this system is so versatile that you can place it next to, or on top of, your video display... or if you have a wall mounted flat panel video display you can use the optional wall-mount bracket to place it securely on the wall. No matter if your room is square or rectangular, or if you have to place your Digital Sound Projector in a corner or another part of the room, the system is flexible enough for virtually any room configuration. An Easy Blend It`s not just about how it sounds... it`s also about style, and how well it complements a wall or stand-mounted plasma , LCD or rear-projection video display. With slim, contemporary design, it becomes an elegant statement of the latest in home theater technology. And, since it can be used as an on-wall system, you can take the Digital Sound Projector with you if you move! The YSP-800 is available in black or silver finish to complement most video display colors. Multi-Channel Surround Sound...Plus! The Digital Sound Projector is designed to be used in rooms of various size and shape. It can be positioned in the front-center of the room or in either of the front corners, see room type digrams below: Five Beam Mode: All five channels - Left, Right, Centre, Left-surround and R-surround - are given separate orientations. Sound is beamed off the walls to create the effect of a surround system with rear speakers. Stereo Mode: The left and right woofers, with the multiple beam speakers acting as tweeters, reproduce the effect of conventional stereo speakers. Three Beam Mode: Three beams are produced: Left and Left-surround, Right and Right-surround and Centre. A surround sound effect is created by reflecting the sound off the walls. Three Beam + Stereo Mode: The Left and Right channels are produced using stereo mode while Center, Left-surround and Right-surround are produced using beaming. This mode is effective when the YSP-800 placed in a corner. Target Mode: One beam is produced: Sound is projected to a distinct location away from the typical listening area.
