Y Tu Mama Tambien (And Your Mother Too), directed by Alfonso Cuaron, became the highest-grossing Mexican movie soon after released. Its soundtrack comprised interesting performances by Latin alternative pop/rock numbers such as Chilean-based Se¤or Coconut (born Uwe Schmidt), aka Atom Heart, who delivers the experimental techno of "Show Room Dummies"; British electronica outfit Dub Pistols team up with rap-metal Molotov on "Here Comes the Mayo; La Revoluci¢n de Emiliano Zapata performs a late-'60s rock & roll-inflected "Nasty Sex"; and Plastilina Mosh brings the funny "La Sirenita" (The Little Mermaid). On the other side, traditional "La Tumba Ser  el Final" is performed by folk singer Flaco Jim?nez. Latin pop artist Marco Antonio Solis contributes with the romantic ballad "Si No te Hubieras Ido," and Titan joined Spaniard La Mala Rodr¡guez on the urban "Afila el Colmillo." While Eagle-Eye Cherry delivers his own version of the Bee Gees' "To Love Somebody," the album also includes Frank Zappa's "Watermelon in Easter Hay," as a clear signal of its alternative status. ~ Drago Bonacich

Q (6/02, p.127)
- 3 stars out of 5 - "...Kicking off with a nutty, bi-lingual soundclash featuring Mexican rap-metal band Molotov and British dance punks Dub Pistols, this soundtrack.. is a grab bag of the unexpected..."
