1 of 5 Issues - Lots of Issues Monday, February 11, 2008
Bob from Utah

CONS: 1. First one lasted 5 months then started eating DVDs Killed three games ($170) and Microsoft gave me a free month of xbox live ($7). 2. Microsoft support is only able to read scripts. (India) 3. It took 3-weeks for a replacement (referb) and it only lasted 5 days. Now waiting for #3, my second replacement. I've only had a working Xbox 360 for 5-days over the last two months. 4. Buy.com sent me a model that was manufactured a year before I purchased it. PROS: 1. It's popular. (All my friends have one... Most have the same issues. 2. Online play has performance issues but is fun. 3. This will be my last Xbox.

5 of 5 Great System Bargain Price Wednesday, July 25, 2007
emmanuel from Corona, NY
Created my own gamers bundle like the one offered at EB games and Circuit City for $65 LESS! The two wireless controllers and the plug and play charger kit plus gears of was crazy cheap. This bundle saved me so money that I was able to get another game like Crackdown. Buy.com is where it's at! Also, HD games are awesome. If you don't have one, get one. This high def stuff is crazy and shipping time is great. Ordered on Sunday received on Wednesday.

The 360 is just an all around great system. Amazing games and great features. Download HD movies, tv shows, games, demos, trailers, etc. Plus, there is a 3 year manufacturers warranty if your system has troubles. Once you play it you fall in love with it.

5 of 5 Awesome! Wednesday, July 11, 2007
Brandon from Denver, CO
I had been wondering which console to buy... PS3 or Xbox 360. What really sealed the deal was Halo 3. I have a 50" Plasma with 1080i. The game play is really amazing! I ordered Tiger Woods 2007 with the purchase of the console. I have the same game on PS2, and there really is no comparison. The graphics are awesome! Controls are really easy to get used to also. I have owned nearly every gaming console since the release of the original Nintendo. And this definitely steps up the game. The only downside is the output of the 360 is Component, not HDMI. The picture is still 1080i and spectacular, but it's still component. If you are still deciding what console to buy because of the media war between HD-DVD and BluRay, I think HD-DVD will win because of ONE reason: The Adult Industry chose HD-DVD as their media. They outsell every other type of media combined! So, in my opinion, HD-DVD will win this war. I purchased the external HD-DVD player for this also, and it really is an amazing picture!

4 of 5 Media Center capability alone worth every penny Thursday, June 07, 2007
Chris Knight from Clearfield UT
The XBox 360 lets me stream primetime TV from my Media Center PC to my TV. I do not have cable or satellite but enjoy only the free channels. My PC has Windows Vista and an ATSC (high-definition) digital TV tuner card. I can record TV with it like a Tivo. The XBox 360 is a great companion for extending the new Vista widescreen Media Center interface to my TV. It does fullscreen, too. The 360 can share all your PC music, videos and photos to your television. You can even start music on the TV then a slide show to go with it! All you need is the basic or deluxe XBox 360 and either a network cable or the 360 USB wireless networking device, today approximately $99. If your DSL/Cable wireless Internet router is only 802.11 b/g and not b/g/a (g = 54mpbs, a = 100mbps) be sure to have the 360 close by or have an otherwise clear signal to your router. Mine is two rooms away on the same floor and I am just able to get stutter-free HD live and recorded television. My new Netgear Wireless-N router helps provide a stronger consistent signal than the Wireless-G routers. But again, one that has Wireless-A is ideal. I just wish I would have wired my house with ethernet cable now! :) [Also a quick note, if you have an HP computer from the last year or two I ran into an obscure networking issue until I installed the latest network card driver, my model is HP m7470n.] The Media Center capabilities alone are so awesome I am considering putting second 360 upstairs.

5 of 5 Im so happy I bought a 360 Monday, April 16, 2007
A Gamer from New York, N.Y.
I really was contemplating for a long time whether or not I would by a next gen system and which one I would buy; in the end I must say that I am very happy I chose the Xbox 360. The graphics this system produce are amazing and any one who has Gears of War and Marvel Alliance are good to go for a long time. It is also fairly priced and that is the major reason I did not get a PS3. Xbox 360 has increased my quality of life, LOL. Basically I have so much more fun because of it. :D

3 of 5 Xbox 360 hardware reliability Monday, February 12, 2007
Zedmeister-Meisterzed from Cary, NC
Our new system broke after 7 days and 12 hours of gaming by only adults. The system shows the "3 lights of death" (hardware failure)and is now waiting for a shipping box to be sent to Microsoft for repair. Ugh! 7 days with a system, up to 21 days without it while being repaired. The system seems to have this problem rather frequently. What a shame for a large purchase like this.

5 of 5 U can't go wrong with this system Wednesday, November 15, 2006
A Gamer from Columbus, Ga
For people who are patient, the reward is great. I knew the xbox 360 was going to start slow but after a few months, the high profile games for the system started to flow in at rapid pace. The graphics is top notch on games such as Perfect Dark Zero, GRAW, and Gears of War. You will do a disservice if you do not buy the xbox 360. If you have xbox live on your original xbox, you can xfer your account to xbox360 with ease. Also the multimedia functionality is awesome.

5 of 5 Unbelievable Gaming Phenomenon Wednesday, November 15, 2006
P-Chip from Monroe, CT
Just when I thought that the original XBox was the ultimate gaming/entertainment system ever, they managed to come out with the 360!

In the original XBox, Microsoft managed to take a video game console and turn it into the center of my living room, by bringing out a Media Center Extender "game". What a brilliant idea. MS knew that you were already hooked on to your home theater, so now you had this really inexpensive way to log into your main PC (a Media Center Edition PC) and see all your TV (plus record, pause it, rewind it, etc.), your pictures, home videos, AND music. Yes, and everything streamed down into your home entertainment system. I found myself viewing my pictures and home videos a lot more than before, since I had such easy access to them. My family is totally addicted to watching TV through the XBox.

All the great things that were available in the XBox are available in the 360, but there's a lot more. The support for HD is truly astounding. You have to see it on an HDTV to see what I mean. Microsoft's 10-foot interface is now available in HD with the 360! Everything just looks better. That's a huge thing for an entertainment console.

XBox Live was truly one of the more innovative strategies in the history of gaming. Now with the new version of Live, things are just more intuitive, better looking, and more fun. The Live Arcade alone can keep you entertained for hours! And with Microsoft's latest announcement of bringing video content into the Live Marketplace, it's more of a reason to go out and get one.

The review of the product itself -- gameplay is fantastic, that's a given. In multiplayer modes, I find that the box takes three players effortlessly (the original one used to just start balking at 3). We haven't tried 4 players, but I'm sure it'll just hum along. HD (720p) games are phenomenal. Of course, you need a TV that supports 1080i/720p. The sound is great on HD games is great as well (with the right AV system). I can't wait to get the HD-DVD accessory when it comes out during the holidays this year, or Q1 of 2007.

I like the feel of the new controller (very much like the original S-controller). The fact that it's natively wireless is a dream come true. I also love the fact that I can switch on (or off) my console without having to get up from the couch.

Finally, in terms of the looks, it's pretty and looks great in the living room. It's small and easily fits inside my home entertainment console. For a while, I fit in my DVD player and the XBox in the same shelf (it's that small), but later on, I realized, that I didn't really need a DVD player, since the XBox does it all. For some reason, I never used my original XBox as a DVD player (can't think of a reason). I guess I had a DVD player that also plays VHS tapes. But since we don't watch any VHS anymore, that player's all but obsolete.

All in all a great buy. I have the advanced system ($399) and bought two additional wireless controllers for it.

5 of 5 Truly Next-Gen Thursday, October 19, 2006
Jay from Costa Mesa, CA
What do I love about Xbox 360? Even more than the graphics and all that jazz, I love the multi-functionality of it. I plug in my iPod, my digital camera, stream movies from my computer, and even use my Xbox Live Vision camera. This thing turns into a complete entertainment system! Also, I love Xbox Live Arcade. I was actually up 'til 5:00 am last night playing Lumines Live (yes, and now I am dying at work today - thus the break for writing a review!). I love being able to download new games when I get sick of playing Madden or one of my other games. Plus, it's so easy to play against a friend with the Friends list feature - it tells things like what game they are playing and when they were last online. The wireless connectivity also is fabulous. I can sit back on my couch and not have to have a million wires running everywhere. Finally, I am a big fan of HDTV, so the HD graphics are truly amazing - even for simplistic games like Texas Hold'Em. If you don't have an Xbox 360, I would really recommend you go get one. It is worth the investment and even play a lot of the old Xbox games like Halo 2.
