Xbox 360 Intercooler EX by Nyko - 86020

The power plug gets extremely hot and will melt into your game console. I got the red ring of death and when I tried to unplug this from my console it had melted itself into the plug. Definitely a bad purchase.

Will ruin your 360 and add to the already irritating noise. It's unbearable, burned the back of my 360 at the power supply connection port.

I too got the flashing red ring of death and when I went to disconnect this thing it was completely melted/fused to the machine and would not seperate without enough force to damage the unit further. I wish I had read about just using a notebook cooler instead. I just assumed like a moron that if it was sold as an accessory that microsoft had certified its effectiveness.

We bought this cooling device to prevent heating issues with our xBox 360 but not a day or two later we got the dreaded red ring of death and had to send it in for repairs. We've had it in the same spot under the TV for six months, the only thing that changed was added the air cooler. Maybe a coincidence but we got rid of it shortly after. Might want to go with one that has a seperate power supply instead of using the USB port.

I bought the Xbox360 Pro system on March 2008. I got this Nyko Ex about a week later. My power cord won’t fit into the Intercooler 360. Microsoft has recently changed their power cord so it no longer requires a push button release. Older versions of the Intercooler still contain the clip for these power cords to lock on to. This clip looks like a black tab located in the center of the power cord connection port of the Intercooler. You can safely remove this BLACK TAB from the Intercooler 360 with a pair of NEEDLE NOSE PLIERS by gently rocking it back and forth. This will not damage the functionality of the Intercooler, and the Intercooler will still be under full warranty from Nyko. I've been using this cooler for almost 9 months. I haven't had a problem with it. Except, its a little loud. If you really want EXTREME COOLING for your Xbox. Go buy yourself a TARGUS LAPTOP COOLING CHILL MAT and place it under your xbox. You will feel a big different. Your Xbox will be ice-stone cold. NO BS !!!

this inter cooler ex is great. it doesn't freeze your game it keeps your console cool . it really works. in addition, it takes about a week for you to get it from them mail

i got this a while ago when my 360 started freezing frequently. it stop the freezing and lag and made my xbox run smoothly for a while, but then the fans started grinding. i fix this by hitting it with my controler, which worked, but got kinda annoying having to do that whenever i start the console. my 360 lasted a whole year after getting this but then... RED FU**ING RING OF FU**ING DEATH!!!!!!!!!! (du du du). but i fixed that by doing the towel trick (wrap 360 in towels, turn on and let sit for 2.5hrs, turn off and let cool for 1hr, turn on, no more red ring) i think i will try using this with the Mad Catz - 4-in-1 Charging Fan Stand, which blows cool air into the bottom of the xbox. maybe the two together will work better to prevent the RRoD. Overall a good product though, made my 360 last for a whole nother, i'v had it now for 2.5 years (my 360, not intercooler. i'v had that for one year), which is good considering that most 360s only last a half a year. my final conclusion; buy this, but get the Mad Catz - 4-in-1 Charging Fan Stand to go with it.

Just bought an Elite and a matching black intercooler. Microsoft reconfigured the power cable and the XBOX 360 connection so the cooler does NOT fit.

This cooler vastly improves airflow and cooling. I'd highly recommend this even if you don't have major heat issues. My only complaint is that its LOUD. It would be nice to be able to control the fan speed someway. Its a shame you have to buy stuff like this for consoles these days but at least we have this high-quality cooler.

I bought one of these after my first xbox 360 died from overheating and my new one suffered from much more than the occasional freeze. Now then the first thing I noticed is that this thing is flimsy, very flimsy and the snap-on part will come off WAY to easily. A friend had recommended it so I figured it would be ok. It worked great for about a month. My xbox did not have the same kind of freezing problems. After that time the fans in the intercooler grind and my xbox 360 will not turn on with the device plugged in. Moral of the story is, these do not last and using one of these if you already have an overheating problem, will only delay the inevitable. Save your 20 bucks and pay for that express shipping back to microsofts xbox graveyard and you will spend less time waiting for a refurb.

DOES WHAT IT SAYS FOR A WHILE BUT SOON WILL FUSE ON TO THE POWER SUPPLY AND MAKE THE 360 NOT WORK. DO NOT BUY!!!

Does a great job of keeping the Xbox360 cool when you are watching long movies, or during extended game playing times. Very easy to install and would definitely recommend for the price.

This is a great addition to the 360. The next generation of gaming have high powered processors and with that comes high temperatures, the intercooler does a good job of keeping the 360 cool. With the intercooler Gamer's can play for extended hours with no fear of game lock-ups or machine damage. Try it, turn on the 360 with out the intercooler for 30 minutes and touch the top above the disk tray then repeat the same thing but with the intercooler attaced.

Made a world of difference with keeping the system cool. Stays cool to the touch. Unbelievably quick and easy installation. Would recommend to all 360 users.

wow!this thing is really easy to use i recommend all 360 owners to have one.hook-up is fast and simple.i plan on using my 360 alot and this gadget really does the trick!
