In a future where mutants are being born with special powers, the fate of civilization hangs in the balance in this three film collection. The X-Men: Trilogy Pack includes the science-fiction blockbusters X-MEN, X2: X-MEN UNITED and X-MEN 3: THE LAST STAND!

X-MEN: Born into a world filled with prejudice are children who possess extraordinary and dangerous powers -- the result of unique genetic mutations. Cyclops unleashes bolts of energy from his eyes. Storm can manipulate the weather at will. Rogue absorbs the life force of anyone she touches. But under the tutelage of Professor Xavier (Patrick Stewart), those and other outcasts learn to harness their powers for the good of mankind. Now they must protect those who fear them as the nefarious Magneto (Ian McKellen), who believes humans and mutants can never co-exist, unveils his sinister plan for the future! Pulsing with state-of-the-art visual effects and unforgettable characters, X-MEN "delivers it all!" (ABC-TV).

X-MEN UNITED: Following a shocking attack on the President, the X-MEN must stand united with their deadliest enemies to combat a menace that threatens every mutant on the planet - and possibly all of mankind. Patrick Stewart, Hugh Jackman and Halle Berry lead an all-star cast in this dazzling, action-packed spectacle that is "arguably the greatest superhero movie ever!" (Entertainment Weekly).

THE LAST STAND: Experience the awesome power of the X-MEN's epic, final battle. Join well-known mutant heroes and villains, and meet a cadre of all-new warriors -- including Angel, Beast, Juggernaut and Colossus -- in this thrilling, explosive adventure! After a controversial "cure" is discovered, mutants can choose to retain their superhuman abilities or give up their unique gifts and become "normal." When peaceful mutant leader Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart) clashes with his militant counterpart, Magneto (Ian McKellen), the battle lines are drawn for the war to end all wars. Bursting with nonstop action, spectacular special effects and exclusive extras, X-MEN: THE LAST STAND is a force of nature that "will blow you away!" (NY1)

Professional Reviews
ReelViews 8 of 10
[2] The problem with X2 is essentially the same one that plagued X-Men: too many characters, resulting in too little screen time for each one. X2 may be the most ambitious superhero motion picture to date, but it doesn't work quite as well as Spider-Man or Superman, both of which are, in some ways, inferior. The reason is simple: in those movies, we get into the skin of the protagonist, whether it's nerdy Peter Parker or bumbling Clark Kent. In X-Men and its sequel, there are simply too many heroes running around. Unless you're a fan of the comic book series, you need a cheat sheet to keep them all straight - and that doesn't count the cameos (Colossus, Kitty Pride, Jubilee, etc.). - James Berardinelli

Chicago Sun-Times 8 of 10
[3] One of the distractions in all the "X-Men" movies is that the X-Men are always getting involved in local incidents that have little to do with the big picture. They demonstrate their powers during disagreements and courtships, neighborhood emergencies, psychological problems or while showing off...All the same, I enjoyed "X-Men: The Last Stand." I liked the action, I liked the absurdity, I liked the incongruous use and misuse of mutant powers, and I especially liked the way it introduces all of those political issues and lets them fight it out with the special effects. Magneto would say this is a test of survival of the fittest. Xavier would hope they could learn to live together. - Roger Ebert

Reel.com 9 of 10
[1] Few films have aroused as much anticipation - and fear - as X-Men. Based on the wildly popular comic book, the film had to bear the onus of living up to a fanatical fan base's expectations while being able to attract a mass audience. Thankfully, director Bryan Singer (Usual Suspects) succeeds on both counts, crafting a flashy, entertaining, and thankfully serious-minded superhero adventure...McKellen's icy performance helps too, although he's upstaged by Jackman's Wolverine: The little-known Australian actor impressed critics and audiences with his edgy menace and smoldering sex appeal, instantly becoming a star. - Tor Thorsen
