True to the premise of the show, the movie opens with the discovery of a mysterious black substance which is predictably covered up by an unnamed, seemingly official group of men. Evading various perils, Mulder and Scully scramble through a series of spectacularly shot scenes not possible in the television productions.

Since I was an avid viewer of the X Files, I was really expecting a lot from this movie. To a point it did not disappoint, but they could have done more. It was like the last hurrah for the show and it did not go out with a big bang... Was this review helpful?
