 Editor's Note
This collection brings together some of the best episodes from this popular TV show, which ran from 1955 to 1961, and tells the story of one of America's most legendary lawmen. Hugh O'Brien plays Wyatt Earp with charisma and dignity in these (mostly) true stories of his adventures with Doc Holliday, Bat Masterson, and the Clanton Gang. The show covered Earp's rise to fame as he worked his way through a series of increasingly lawless towns--from Ellsworth to Wichita, Dodge City, and finally Tombstone. As his reputation grew, so did the dangers he faced. Among the 26 episodes presented here, in chronological order, are those dealing with the notorious gunfight at the O.K. Corral.

The storyline of The Life and Legend of Wyatt Earp - The Complete Season One (1955-1956) begins with a twenty-something Wyatt Earp (played to the hilt by the rough-and-tumble Hugh O’Brian) arriving in Ellsworth, Kansas to start a job as a lawman -- a job he really doesn’t want, but is nonetheless forced to take when the local hoods leave him no alternative....read the full review |
