Madeleine L'Engle's best-selling and beloved Newbery Award-winning novel bursts to life in a spectacular family film that TV Guide calls "a charming and imaginative film." When astrophysicist Dr. Jack Murry disappears without a trace, his children, Meg and Charles Wallace, and neighbor Calvin O'Keefe embark on a cosmic quest to find him. Guided by Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Who, and Mrs. Which, the children travel to a distant planet and encounter a society controlled by an evil force. They must trust themselves and one another if they are to rescue Dr. Murry and return home safely. Enjoy the nonstop excitement and adventure of A Wrinkle In Time, starring Academy Award-nominated actress Alfre Woodard (1984 Best Supporting Actress, Cross Creek) and teen idol Gregory Smith from TV's "Everwood." It's an amazing journey your family will want to take over and over again.

"A mind-blowing odyssey."  New York Times

Editor's Note

Three children embark upon interplanetary travel in the beloved children's tale, A WRINKLE IN TIME. Meg (Katie Stuart) and Charles Murry (David Dorfman) search for their missing father, an astrophysicist who mysteriously disappeared while doing highly confidential research for the government. Calvin O'Keefe (Gregory Smith), their popular neighbor, accompanies them on this breathtaking adventure. Guided by three female celestial beings (Alfre Woodard, Kate Nelligan, and Alison Eliot), the children travel to the planet of Camazotz where they encounter an evil man with red eyes, known as The Prime Coordinator. A WRINKLE IN TIME offers a highly polished interpretation of Madeleine L'Engel's 1963 coming of age/science fiction tale.

4 of 5 Very good rendering of the book Thursday, December 27, 2007
Don Baun from Pittsburgh, PA

It seemed to be a very good overall rendering of the book, obviously with some "shortcuts" to shorten & simplify it. I also noticed that some specific references to Christianity were left out, which detract from the point of the story, but not so much as to drain it of its meaning. Unfortunately, I think you would have to have read the book to follow it easily, but am recommending it for older children & of course adults. When I talk about it, I do mention reading the book first would help.
