The thing to keep in mind is that this is the mid-sized product, and I thought I was ordering the larger one. My daughter loves it, but it doesn't stay on for a long enough time without interaction. It is a fun toy and for the price I really cannot complain.

I ordered 2 of these roboreptiles but only received 1. My credit card was charged for both. It's been since July, yet Buy.com is still saying 'temporarily out of stock, but order now to get on the list when they are available'. When will that be?? The one that I received is great. These were birthday presents for grandsons and only one has a Roboreptile to play with.

We bought this for our 6 year old grandson, and it took us longer to get it out of the box than it took him to master the controls! He has had more fun with this robotic toy than with any other toy he has ever been given, and we have enjoyed watching them play together also. I would recommend this to anyone trying to captivate an energetic and bright child's mind!!

I know our robotics technology isn't as advanced yet but I would expect something better than day, even design-wise. The robot cannot walk on the carpet, so the only place I can play with it is in the kitchen. Also, the "following" functionality isn't as good as described. Sometimes the robot will turn its head towrds the remote, but most of the time it will just start walking forward. Also, it walks on a curve instead of walking forward. I am not sure if it's only mine or all of them walk on the curve. After all, it ended up being fun for one afternoon. Now, I turn it on sometimes but it became boring quickly.

We got this for my daughter's 9th birthday, and it was an instant success. The package is huge, as the Roboreptile is quite long including the tail. Both of my daughters' were very impressed, and their jaws dropped when the birthday girl opened unwrapped it. She is still learning all the various features and modes, and so it should keep her entertained for a while. Unsure about the durability, as it has a lot of moving parts, but so far so good. Both of my girls are interested in science, and this should be a good introduction to some basic robotics. I will definitely shop for another Robo- toy for my other daughter for Christmas.
