Now it has been completely revised, offering the most up-to-date information available on women's health issues.
Christiane Northrup's vision of mind-body wellness has received an extraordinary response from women all over the world. A completely updated program for menopause, including how to decide whether natural hormone replacement is right for you
Holistic ways to prepare and heal faster if surgery is necessary
Plus dozens of new natural treatments and a wealth of hard-to-find health care resources
Filled with dramatic case histories from the famed Women to Women health care center, Women's Bodies, Women's Wisdom is contemporary medicine atits best, combining new technologies with natural remedies and the miraculous healing powers within the body itself.

Annotation:
This classic in women's health was revolutionary when it was first published it in 1994, and Dr. Christiane Northrup has updated her book many times since. In a supportive and informative manner, and using a holistic medical approach, Dr. Northrup encourages readers to tune in to their own intuition and to become their own authorities in regard to health issues. She encourages readers to create a personal medical plan, and includes much practical advice on choosing and relating to doctors. The middle of the book contains an in-depth guide to women's bodies and their health concerns. There is a huge amount of information in this section, and its straightforward approach seems unlike anything that came before. Always, Dr. Northrup is aware of what she calls the "cultural inheritance" that impedes the healthy and honest answers that all patients need.

Though I'd known intellectually that many women have a wall of fear within them that arises when they dare to speak their truth, I hadn't realized how much of that fear I also shared. I dreaded going to the hospital for the regular OB/GYN meeting in June 1994, after the book went on sale, because I was sure that my colleagues would reject me and my work. Until then I had lived a professional double life: One part of me told patients what I really believe, in the privacy of my personal office, and the other part, the "official"
