| | Professional Reviews | Animetique 8 of 10 Wolf's Rain is very good, although very melodramatic. It's not going to win any awards for the feel good anime of the year and there tends to be a lot of blood and fighting amongst the wolves themselves and between the human/wolf community...The story is engaging, though at points slow, and the characters have this alienating quality to them that makes them feel less human than your typical characters. That's good, I suppose, for showing the distinction between the wolf community and human emotion, but sometimes you wish for something a bit more.

5 of 5 Fantastic Friday, May 30, 2008 Beau Singer beaugeste2280 from Jacksonville, Al.
Couldn't wait to start watching this series. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Show good, but service bad Tuesday, April 01, 2008 William from Waterford, MI
My spouse loves this anime.
Buy.com is horrible. I ordered this two months before her birthday, and received it a week before it.
When I ordered it, it had said nothing of it being out of stock. After 2-3 weeks of waiting, they sent me an e-mail saying it was back-ordered.
Will never buy from them again. Was this review helpful?
4 of 5 good stuff Monday, March 17, 2008 A Viewer from Lincoln, MA
To start off, make sure you check each disc to make sure it's in factory mint condition. That's right. Disc 3 came scratched for me! How that's possible from a brand new item is beyond me.
Anyways, the series itself is very good. It's full of emotion that will surely reveal the sensitive part of you.
Upsides:
-This is one of the most beautifully rendered anime I've ever seen.
-Each of the main characters' are different enough to make interaction to each other interesting enough on its own.
-Fast-moving story development that keeps you hooked.
Downsides:
-The aspect ratio is 4:3. In an hi-def era, 16:9 is the set standard. 2003 wasn't that long ago. If
-Character background info is somewhat weak. The four main guys come together in the beginning, but we have no idea how or why.
-of course, this is only part 1 of 2 of the complete series.
Overall:
-Good anime, but not as revolutionary as GitS:SAC or Samurai Champloo. Target audience is late-teens and college kids if that gives any indication. Was this review helpful?
