His work for the CIA is brilliant, cold-blooded and efficient, but who is he? In a harrowing tour de force, phenomenally bestselling author Tom Clancy shows how an ordinary man named John Kelly crossed the lines of justice and morality to become the CIA legend known as Mr. Clark. It is an unforgettable journey into the heart of darkness, without mercy--without remorse.

Annotation:
A former Navy Seal and Vietnam vet returns to Vietnam to rescue American soldiers who were presumed killed in action, but are actually being brutally interrogated. He is also searching for a band of drug smugglers who have been threatening his new lady love.

Praise
Washington Post Book World
"What Clancy manages to deliver to armchair warriors more often than not--and "Without Remorse" is no exception--is a different kind of virtuosity: a meticulous chronicle of military hardware, a confident strife through corridors of power, an honest-to-God global war game, and a vertiginous plot that dutifully tracks dozens of seemingly disparate strands to a pyrotechnic finish." - Marie Arana-Ward 06/01/1997

Author Bio
Tom Clancy
An insurance executive well into his late 30s, Tom Clancy first hit fame and fortune with the spy thriller "The Hunt for Red October", the sales of which soared when President Ronald Reagan called it a personal favorite. Though Clancy was never a military man himself, due to poor eyesight, he closely studied declassified military documents and used the technical information he gleaned from them to write his best-selling thrillers. Most of Clancy's novels feature ex-marine Jack Ryan, an intelligence analyst working with the CIA. Often the reluctant hero, Ryan battles foes such as international terrorists and powerful drug lords, often finding himself deeply immersed in the high-stakes world of espionage.

5 of 5 Beautifuly Crafted Redemption Novel. Tuesday, April 08, 2003
J.C from New York, Bronx

Without Remorse. albeit thick, [like almost all of Clancy's Novels] is one of his best. From a man who had many thing to live for; was quickly reduced to nil. His revenage is beautifuly crafted.I don't want to give away anything in this book lest i might spoil it for you, so i'll stop here. I hope Mr. Clancy has another John Clark novel set for release, (Clark in his younger days, of course, Rainbow Six is good, too, however he's much older) sometime in the near future. I recommend you pick up Debt of Honor and Executive Orders which are 2 of his finest work.
