The active-play phenomenon started by Wii Sports now spreads to your whole body thanks to a pressure-sensitive Wii balance board, which comes packed with Wii Fit. The board is used for an extensive array of fun and dynamic activities, including aerobics, yoga, muscle stretches and games. Many of these activities focus towards providing a "core" workout, a popular exercise method that emphasizes slower, controlled motions. Family members will have fun staying active and talking about and comparing their results and progress on a new channel on the Wii Menu.

Body Test
Do a Body Test daily with the Wii Balance Board. In this test, you use the Wii Balance Board accessory to measure your center of balance, Body Mass Index (BMI), and body control. Based on these results, you can also determine your Wii Fit Age. Much like Brain Age, you can chart your daily progress and compare it to previous results, as well as other friends and family who play Wii Fit.

All About Balance
Your center of balance, the point between your left and right sides when you are standing upright, has a lot to do with your health. Those without an even center of balance will be unnaturally compensating for this imbalance, which causes their posture to become misaligned, increasing the possibility of putting unnecessary strain on their bodies. Wii Fit can help you learn more about your balance, and give you tips on how to improve it.

4 Training Modes
Wii Fit features four main categories to choose from: Strength Training, Aerobics, Yoga, and Balance Games. From those groups, there are over 40 exercises and activities designed to improved body balance and fitness.

Wii Fit Channel
With Wii Fit, you can install a channel in the Wii Menu so that you can perform a Body Test and view your graph without having to insert the Wii Fit disc everytime. For example, if you happen to have Super Mario Galaxy Game Disc in the Wii Console, you can still check your weight via the Wii Fit Channel without switching games.

5 of 5 More Fun than an exercise bike 5/11/2009
from brookfield, Il
I am having a lot of fun playing wii fit. Unfortunately I'm on day 19 and have not lost any weight. It fluctuates by 2 lbs. up and down but that could be differences in clothing and time of day.

Yoga poses are great and the balance games are really challenging. Have already lost 8 pounds in 3 weeks at just 30 mins per day. Easy gameplay and very easy instructions.

5 of 5 great workout... and fun 4/28/2009
Adam from south OC, CA
using this system twice a day for 30 minutes a session; trying to loose a little weight. I am a 32 year old man with about 25 extra lbs. The Fit comes with yoga poses, balance games (which are very fun), aerobics games, strength training, I think this is really the best feature of the Wii. I swore off video games about 5 years ago; I was wasting to much time. The Wii is not a time waster though ... its a workout. So I spend less time in the gym, and more time playing games to get my daily workout.

4.3 of 5 duplicate shipment 4/10/2009

seller duplicated the shipment. I had to notify them and they send me return postage, but I had to take to the ups store, little inconvenience for me for their mistake.

4.7 of 5 Spendier than most games, but definitely worth it! 3/28/2009
from Montana, USA
Although this game and the included balance board didn't appeal to me much at first, other family members insisted on picking this up. This is now one of my favorites, and I've even lost a bit of weight while playing!
The balance board itself is very durable, and is a fun gaming interface! I would highly recommend a decent rechargeable battery pack for it (such as the Psyclone brand), as well as a rubberized cover so that you've got better footing.
Wii Fit is nice! I thought it would be a cheesey little thing they'd bundle with it, but some of the games are actually addictive and entertaining!
More games are being released to support the balance board, so this Wii Fit is definitely worth picking up! If they start selling the balance board just by itself, I would be tempted to pick up a second one!

4.3 of 5 Love it! 3/6/2009
from Yorktown, VA
I got this game from GamezForLess (buy.com marketplace) and the transaction was flawless.
I love the game, can't seem to be able to step off that board ! I only wish that it had a more efficient way to accomodate 2 players

3.7 of 5 Get it if you don't like hitting the gym! 3/3/2009
NB from Lakeland, FL
It makes exercise fun. But for people who are already athletes or who hit the gym regularly, this may not help much. It is quite a lot of fun though. I wish there were more games.

5 of 5 Great game and service 2/19/2009

5 of 5 great game, terrible place to buy it 2/17/2009
from st. louis, MO
I bought it through their marketplace, from a company called gamez4less. I WOULD NEVER BUY FROM THEM AGAIN. 1) they overcharged ($140ish vs $89 on amazon), 2) 5 days after I had ordered it they had not sent me any confirmation of the order, so I requested they cancel my order (they had 2 days to confirm per the buy agreement). Of course that day I got a shipping notification and a note from them saying NO RETURNS. I thought about fighting it etc, but in the end just took it. But now I WILL NEVER buy from them, or buy.com again.

5 of 5 Great game; big price 2/2/2009

My Wii Fit cost $147.through Buy.com. I saw it at Best Buy for $89. Is this the best we can expect from the saving giant you build yourselves up to be?

4.3 of 5 Huge Fun For Experts and Beginners 2/2/2009
Glen from Narrowsburg, NY
The games and exercises are easy to do, and then get more challenging as you progress. Fun to play, even for those who don't usually play video games. I'm not sure if this qualifies as a replacement for a real exercise regimen, but it's certainly better for you than sitting on the sofa!
Only minor criticism -- there are two of us playing and we have one Wii Balance Board. When we want to switch from one player to the next we have to keep hitting the "Back" button on the menu so we can switch. (This might be our own ignorance, but we can't figure it out!) I recommend this product.

4.3 of 5 Fit is awesome!!! 1/27/2009
Allen from Kernersville, NC
I had initially hesitated spending this much more on my Wii system. I have no regrets at all. This thing rocks!!! Setup was a snap and it was fun from the beginning.
You personalize your fittness program the way you want it, including chosing your trainer. It holds you accountable, guides you through the process, tracks your weight on a chart, allows you to set goals and reminds you of them.
Exercising can be so repetative and boring. Not with the Fit and balance board though. I am using and strengthening muscles I didn't even know I had.
I had knee surgery a few months ago and just wasn't building my core body enough to support it properly. Now I am way more balanced and supportive.
In summary, I think everyone of all ages should get one. It gets you off the couch and provides a fun way to get Fit.

4.7 of 5 Wii Fit Balance Board 1/19/2009
Fred from White Pigeon, Michigan
Wow! I can't keep my wife off of it. She literally breaks into giggles at the ripe age of 58. Like a little kid again. I wouldn't part with it now. She has needed exercise for knee surgery and this is giving it to her. She just tends to stay on it a little too long and I can hardly get a TV show in any longer!

5 of 5 Easy and Fun 1/17/2009
Johanna from West Chester, PA
Easy to set up. Game can be challenging. Great way to get up off the couch and get moving, but still isn't like a gym workout. Lots of fun and hard to get off of it.

4.3 of 5 A Wonderful Game/Toy/Exerciser! 1/17/2009
Robert from Wrightstown, PA
The Wii FIT is loads of fun and a terrific platform for lots of imaginative and interactive games and fitness methods. Best of all, it is something that can be used by the entire family on one level or another. It is no wonder that Wii crushes XBox and PlayStation in sales. Nintendo has created an accessible game player through innovation and differentiation. You don't need a PlayStation to get an inexpensive BlueRay player anymore, and new TV's are being linked up to portable hard drives as we speak. So Nintendo's decision to create a device for GAMES was right on. There is still nothing like it on the market. It may take Apple to create competition. If you like family entertainment for all ages, Wii and Wii FIT are for you.

4.7 of 5 Addictive! 1/7/2009
Papa from Royse City, TX
I bought this as a gift for my wife as she had back surgery and needed to slowly get back into exercising. She absolutely loves the fit, however she has so much fun she tends to over do it and stays on for hours (even though it reminds you to take breaks!). My daughter and granddaughter have gotten into it as well. We are all working on losing a few pounds! I purchased Wii Ski as well as we like to ski, and using the board really gives you a workout. Its also fun to watch others use the system to play some of the games - getting smacked with soccer shoes is a hoot. Note: the Wii was the only game station my wife would allow as most games require you to get up off the couch, the Wii Sports (boxing, baseball, tennis, bowling) will give you a workout as well.

5 of 5 Wonderful Family Fun! 1/6/2009
Grandma Judy from Livingston, NJ
This was a Hanukah gift to my daughter, her husband and 3 kids ages almost 15, 11 and 7 and was a major hit. The whole family is using this and have become so competitive that my son-in-law said they should get colored team shirts! The 11 year old did it for 2 hours yesterday, to try to improve her scores. They all can't wait for their turn. They are working on the balance exercises at the moment. My daughter was raving about how great it is this morning on our phone call. I'm looking forward to my next visit so I can try it too. I highly recommend this product and the gift was delivered quickly and I was kept informed about each step of the order process. Good job!

4.7 of 5 Great system 1/5/2009
Angelo from New York, NY
Great add on for the Wii. The challenges against other people who use it "force you" to try harder and exercise in the process. I wish there were more games for it. Totally recommended.

4 of 5 Initial Impressions (1 day's use) 1/5/2009
from South Carolina
Likes: Simple, clear user interface.
Dislikes: After taking the baseline measurement, it made my Mii fat. I know I am already. Maybe its supposed to be a motivator? Balance training was very short, and compared to the exercise it took a long time to restart.

4.3 of 5 Wii Fit 1/2/2009
from Limerick, PA
I purchased the Wii Fit as a family Christmas present. It was easy to set up and almost as much fun to watch family members play the games as play them yourself. My 25 year old continues to use the program almost daily to track his fitness progress.

3.7 of 5 Fit and Fun 10/23/2008
from KY
The Wii Fit is lots of fun for the entire family. Like most Wii games the graphics are a little behind the times, but everything else is great.
Pros-workouts for everyone (strength training, yoga, dance, etc), games that are actually a bit of a workout, center of balance indicator is great.
Cons-graphics are weak, and after you do a game a few times you wish it would kind of skip some of the instructions. Also BMI is a bit misleading as it has no idea of your body type. It says I need to weigh like 50 pounds less, but I would be sickly looking if I were that small. I have a pretty muscular build and broad shoulders and it says I am borderline obese. I would like to loose more like 20 pounds. All in all, pretty few cons.
Get it, use it, and I bet you loose weight and feel better.

4 of 5 Good tool for the out of shape like me 10/23/2008
Allan from Boston
As an out of shape, middle aged professional who doesn't need the embarrassment of a gym, this is a good tool. The graphics are goofy, but strangely effective. And, most important, it really lets you go at your own pace, working on different aspects of your fitness (balance, strength, aerobics).
It keeps track of how you are doing, allows you to set goals, even provides encouragement as you go along.
I recommend this for people like me.

4 of 5 Awesome... totally surprised by how great it is. 7/3/2008
from Los Angeles, CA
I originally bought this for my wife and didn't expect to like it myself. The balance board is amazing and the strength training gets very challenging. The skiing balance games are awesome and even the yoga, with its center of balance circle, is amazing.
Even as a former skeptic, I highly recommend the Wii Fit!
