I received the gun a couple of days ago and it is fricken awesome.
-----------------
First to answer the questions above.
1) It will not line up exactly to the cross hairs on the screen. This is a limitation of the Wii system, not the gun. In some games, like The Conduit, you have the option to recalibrate the gun. The problem is unless you sit directly in front of the TV and keep the gun in the exact same position, it will drift/accelerate, like a mouse on a computer. If you move an inch, it might move 6 inches on screen, but if you move 2 inches, it might move 2 feet. But this isn't an issue because who actually points the gun like a real gun, no one, your arms would get tired after one battle. But if that is a requirement you have, this gun will not satisfy.
-----------------
2) It is an actual Wiimote, so you can use it for any game. I don't know why you would want to, but it could be used on Mario cart, it operates exactly like any Wiimote except the buttons are in different locations. It works on the Wii Menu page, like any other Wiimote.

3) Nunchuk. I really did some reviewing before buying this gun and yet when it arrived I was in for a pleasant surprise. I knew the nunchuk would plug into the bottom, but I always rest the Wiimote on my leg or knee and I was worried about the cord poking out. The surprise, it comes with a 90 degree adapter that plugs in the bottom of the gun so the nunchuk cord actually plugs into the back of the handle. It's shaped exactly like the gun handle and the plug port is shaped (rounded) like the bottom of a regular Wiimote. So it will accommodate Motionplus as well as the nunchuk, or in my case, a wireless nunchuk. It can be removed if you don't need it.
-----------------
4) Trigger and button layout. The trigger is smooth, no springy feel. The A button is located perfectly. It is so nice to have the Dpad easily accessible with your thumb, far more convenient then the Wiimote. The general layout has more to do with the option on the game, for example Quantum of Solace doesn't have the ability to switch buttons, while The Conduit lets the user change every button. I have found it more then bothersome that controls for first person shooting games are so varied. I end up throwing a grenade when I wanted to whip out the sniper rifle. But that is the game, not the controller.
-----------------
I can not say enough good things about this remote. I have a Zapper and it blows, all the controls are hard to reach in especially when you really need to reach them. If you are a fan of FPS (first person Shooting) games, this is a must have. It will improve not only the fun factor, but your skill level as well. I paid $28 with free shipping here, at Buy.com, and it easily the best accessory I have owner for any game system.
-----------------
I also purchased the Nyco Kama wireless nunchuk. It has literally revolutionized my gaming experience. Now I am a little ticked that I sold some of my games because I really would love to go through them again with this gun and the wireless nunchuk. One issue I do have is that it makes the gaming easier, switching weapons, tossing grenades, gun butts, all are second nature with this set-up. I am off now to get the Metroid Trilogy because this weekend I wrapped up all my other FPS shooting games with ease. Was this review helpful?
