We were upgrading from a 15" old piece of garbage I got for free, so you can tell we're not really "TV people". I wanted a 26" or bigger with HD and we needed a flat panel cause our living room is small. But being that we are not TV people, i didn't want to spend too much on something i don't care about. Enter this product.
I was shaking as I opened the box after reading all the reviews posted here. I hate hassles. Turn it on and, oh no, there is a line down the screen. During our discussion of what to do, it disappeared and never came back. Maybe it was just my elevated paranoia.
Since then, things have run really smoothly, to the point where I would recommend this TV. Maybe it really is a crap-shoot, but I think we got a good deal. The HD picture is outstanding, better than some of the "better" TVs we saw in person and the remote makes usage a breeze. It does emit a soft hum sometimes, but its not any louder than our AC unit or our refrigerator so I stopped noticing it. And if you hook it up to a stereo the hum is a moot point. I run my HD cable, DVD, Wii & Original all through this thing, everything looks and sounds fine.
My recommendation is if the above sounds like you give it a go. We're happy. Was this review helpful?
