Westinghouse 4 Channel Voice Activated Intercom - WHI-4CUPG

I was really looking forward to use these in our home, but unfortunately, they were very awful. Purchased 4 of these for our 2000 sq ft home thinking that the 1500ft range would be more than sufficient but sadly, I was wrong. Sometimes, a unit could transmit successfully to the others, but even going back and forth in the same conversation, it would often fail. Thinking to myself that perhaps the wiring in the home may be a problem, I plugged them into the same outlet, and again, they would sometimes work and sometimes go blank. At this point, I thought I must have had a defective unit, so I requested an exchange from the marketplace seller. They referred me to the manufacturer, to whom I contacted and exchanged a pair. Even with the exchanged units, the problem persisted. These units are not reliable and I need them to be, that is the reason I sought a whole-house communications system, so I wouldn't have to scream for my family to hear me downstairs. I am still seeking a resolution to this problem at this time (trying to get my money back), but in the meantime, I purchased 4 Reporter intercoms, and they work like magic, 100% of the time, clearly and reliably. Unlike the Westinghouse units, I can't praise the Reporter units highly enough. The Westinghouse units are not worthy to even be sold. I am extremely frustrated with these units and this whole debacle. It's not that they have static, or function minimally poorly. I could live with some staticky sound. Rather, it's the fact that they sometimes work, and sometimes don't.
