5 of 5 Good Upgrade for older laptop Saturday, January 03, 2009 Max from Virginia
The Scorpio WD2500BEVE Hard Drive (250GB) is a good upgrade for an older laptop. It is actually quieter than the original 40GB Toshiba HD. It does run a little warmer, but this is nothing the cooling system of the Dell Inspiron 6000 can't handle. If you want to extend the life of your older PATA drive laptop, you can't go wrong with this drive. Was this review helpful?

Tis item was a breeze to install. It also made my old laptop run and operate programs which usually take log to open with lightning speed. Recomended for those who need additonal storage space or if your factory hard drive spins to slow. ths drive is wisper quiet as well. Was this review helpful?

This hard disk was really what I was expecting. Now I got plenty of available disk space and I got the same performance that I had in the previous disk. I got 20 days and I have no problems with the disk. Really a good buy. Was this review helpful?

Completely competent drive. Good performance, and very quiet.
As IDE notebook hard drives are now an historical artifact, this is probably the largest (and maybe the fastest 5400 RPM) hard drive that will ever be sold. Right now, it is the only game in town for expanding an older laptop above 160 GB.
I installed this drive in a Dell D610. From the specs, it uses a bit more power than the original drive, but it is also faster, and 3 times as large. I suspect the battery time is a little shorter, but it is hard to be sure with an aging battery.
Considering that my laptop is already 3 years old, the 3 year warrantee is effectively eternal.

5 of 5 A Great Drive Sunday, May 25, 2008 A Customer from Sun City, AZ
I believe this is the largest capacity laptop drive available with an ATA parallel interface. It was just what I needed to upgrade my four year old Compaq Presario X1000 to dual-boot Windows/Linux system and it is working great. Was this review helpful?

4 of 5 Good Value, great space but Tuesday, April 08, 2008 A Customer from Katy, TX
... a little noisy operation. It spins and keep on spinning. A little bit louder than my old one.
On the good side, it has a huge size for the price. I selected this in lieu of 7200 rpm 100GB.
Installation is a breeze, no other issue to mention. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 No problems thus far... Friday, March 28, 2008 A Customer from Edison, NJ
Product was quickly shipped as has been the case with most of my Buy.com orders. I had no issues installing the dirve in my Toshiba Tecra M2 and my laptop has been working smoothly for about a month now. I saw some reviews about the drive being noisy but it's no louder than the existing 80GB drive that came with the laptop. Performance has been fine although I haven't done any formal tests to get any hard data. Laptop was dropped twice since installation and the drive hasn't skipped a beat yet. Was this review helpful?
