Works fine took longer to back up/ restore data than actually install the drive. Note to upgrade ps3 to keep data must have external HDD formated to FAT 32 use free program swissknife to format external HDD

For the price, as long as it works I don't care. Some people want a steak for the price of a cheeseburger. I put this bad boy in my PS3 and it has been running perfectly for 4 months so far. Great deal and a great way to add a ton of space to your PS3 (I was running with 20 GB until this drive). Thanks buy.com for another excellent deal/product. You might want to consider selling boxes of tissues (retail, of course) for these OEM whiners.

This is a good item but, Picture is a RETAIL box and the item that showed up was a foam packed box not a retail packaged product. why show one thing and ship another.. thats not cool. Product does work well and is a good value but still.. I thought I was getting a retail packaged product..

The image provided by Buy.com shows a clean original box. But delivered is in a plastic bag. No warranty information nor other product description. The HDD looks working normally, but really doubt if it is new or not.

OK first of all, Buy.com I already reviewed this but you didn't like what I said. This is a very good product but the ONLY reason I bought it from buy.com it was because it shows as being a retail package. Well it's not!!! It's an OEM product! There is NO such thing in the description..If I would have known I would have purchased from amazon.com. This is the last time I review this.

I bought this drive to upgrade my 1st Gen 20 GB PS3. It's been in for about 2 weeks with no problems. Installation was super-easy. Now I have absolutely no problems with my fully backward compatible 1st Gen PS3. Sweet!

Bought this 320gb to replace my 160gb HDD in my laptop. I have an XPS M1530 and this hard drive popped right in, no problems, in two minutes. I have noticed however, that there seems to be more of the operating noise than I remembered in the previous stock HDD. Increased capacity is nice though and it seems fast enough. Good deal too at $85.

I bought one of the earliest 60Gb PS3s and have already filled that puppy with demos and movies. I plan on using my playstation as the main storage space for my High Definition camcorder footage because of it's ease/quickness in playing the raw HD footage straight from the card. Ordered this guy, threw it in the PS3 (literally, it's stupid easy) and in about 3 minutes I was up and running with more than 5 times my previous capacity. Hopefully it lasts. So far so good!

3 of 5 Thousands of bad sectors Saturday, April 26, 2008

I've had a frustrating time with this HD replacement in my lappy. Everything went swimmingly until I had filled the disc with just over 100GB, then all of a sudden, bluescreen city until one of them wrecked my Windows installation. By using the Seagate diagnostic disc, I'm finding thousands of bad sectors. Back to WD it goes!

Got this once my MacBook Pro went out of warranty and the original 100Gb drive became impossibly small. I found this to be the lowest recent price on a 300+ gig drive (I got it for $164, lower than the present price as of March 30 2008). Drive arrived quickly even on the free ground shipping and the replacement was quite simple for a MacBook Pro (the MacBooks are dirt easy, there's no reason not to put this drive in if you own a MB). It runs quieter, appears to spin up faster, performs faster, and generates less heat than the original Fujitsu 100Gb. Remember that this drive is SATA, so do not order it if your laptop uses a PATA (like Apple iBooks and PowerBooks). All i could ask for more would have been for this beast to be 7200rpm. Wait a year or two and it will be.

No problems installing. Huge gain in storage space for a notebook (I was upgrading from a 120gb disk). Very quiet. Does not get too hot (at least, I can't make out any difference from the former Momentus 5400.3 drive). I have not run any benchmark tests, but Vista seems to load a bit faster .. nothing remarkable though.
