3 of 5 Not Shutting Off Properly Tuesday, January 01, 2008

While I am satisfied with the storage ability of this product I have yet to get it to shut off properly. The button manager does not work for shutting down the unit as it is supposed to. I searched the knowledge base and tried the reinstalling button mgr. but to no avail.
There is no icon in the system tray (there's supposed to be one) to allow me to remove the device safely and the drive is not listed in my add/remove hardware list so I can't shut down from there.
This product also will not shut down when the computer shuts down and often the button on the device itself doesn't work at all for shutting down.
I have emailed and only received a canned response that someone would get back to me on 12/20/07 and still no response (maybe due to holidays). I could not get through to support on phone but only tried twice. Was this review helpful?

I am very happy with this external HD. The instalation process was very easy. It is also very easy to use and you can set up personalized automatic back ups of files and folders in less than 2 minutes. It turns on and off with the computer, so you don't have to worry about plugs etc. Was this review helpful?
