1 of 5 Unreliable WD320GB Thursday, January 03, 2008 David from CA
This was easy to setup and use. It comes with a 1yr warrenty and flat out died just after the warrenty expired... The company (WD) was extremely unhelpfull and insisted the product was outside of warrenty and the only way to recover my data is to pay a lot of money to an external data recovery center. You want your data safe, and this HD is NOT safe or secure. I just bought a replacement from Seagate, and while I can't say anything about how long it will work for, they are known to be reliable and that is what you want with a HD. DO NOT BUY WWESTERN DIGITAL if you value your files... Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Very good drive Tuesday, September 25, 2007 A Customer from Brooklyn, NY
This drive is very easy to use and is great for the price. I added all of my pictures, music and back up files and I still have a lot more room left. The size is great and also the automatic power on and off. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Outstanding! Tuesday, May 15, 2007 Nick from Buffalo, NY
Plug it in and go. It came fully formatted, and took just moments to connect. It is so quiet that I forget that it's there. If you are looking for an external hard drive, this is the one that you want! Was this review helpful?

Purchased it a month ago, installed it 2 weeks ago, didn’t copy even a single file to it, and the drive just died. I should have listened to many negative reviews about this product. After all, what good is a backup drive for if it is not reliable? My sincere advice: do not buy this product unless you have a “reliable” extra backup drive to backup this “unreliable” WD drive. Worse yet, I have to pay the shipping charge to sent it back to WD for a replacement. Was this review helpful?

I wanted to get another External HD to use in addition to my Seagate, which has been giving me problems. I just reformated this from the FAT32 and just started to use it. I did not install the software, since my Windows XP pro just knew what it was and I didnt want to install the Google software that came with it, I dont need their toolbar. I am using this HD for my music and it has been great so far. Good value for the money, I got it on sale with free shipping, cant get it cheaper anywhere. Buy.com is the best. Also, the fact that it shuts down when you power of your PC, great feature. Was this review helpful?

Extremely satisfied with the purchase of this Western Digital 320 GB external hard drive. This harddrive powers on when you plug it into USB port; and vice versa, powers down when you "Eject" it in Windows. In addition, it's very quiet and has sleek design. Was this review helpful?
