I'm very satisified with this hard drive. It was easy to install on my new ASUS M2A-VM MB with a AMD dual core 3800 processor. I noticed a increase in speed loading my CAD prog. (From over 60 sec to 22 sec) This HDD is a good value and I highly recommend it.
Note: If your MB didn't come with a serial data cable you'll need to purchase one.
I highly recommended this drive.

My SATA Hdd is working great,since I have installed it. It was only a little time to spend Formatting it.
CONs: The software downloaded from WD to check the overall operation of the Hdd does not read its Serial Number. Was this review helpful?

At first, I could not find this new drive on my computer and went through all kinds of stupid procedures to get it working, when all along, all I needed to do is right click on My Computer and click on Manage, and then on "Disk Management" to find it. Once I formatted and partitioned it, it worked like a charm. It's a bit noisier than my other drives, but much faster, so I won't complain about the noise. Was this review helpful?

I had the false expectation that the drive would come with some documentation to facilitate installation. Since there was no documentation, it took me some time to install. Luckily, the Western Digital website has pdf documents that can assist with this. Once I figured out that the second SATA socket on my motherboard was "turned off" in the bios, installation went smoothly. Once installed, it works great. Was this review helpful?

I am very satisified with this hard drive. It was easy to install and I notice a difference in the speed of my computer. I got it at a great price too. You will need to purchase a serial data cable if you don't already have one because this is a drive only item. I highly recommended this drive. Was this review helpful?

I received this drive the other day and immediately installed it in my system. My motherboard has SATA II connections (Gigabyte GA-K8NXP-9) so I was interested to see how this new drive would perform. Well, it greatly exceeded my expectations. Anyway, I'd recommend this drive to anyone, it does exactly what they say it does, and more. Was this review helpful?
