Everything about this WD book is great. It is a little slow on access, and it doesn't have faster connections only USB. I am pretty happy, but I haven't restored anything yet, so I can say for certain how well it works. Was this review helpful?

Easy to install, the software tools work great, and configuration is simple. My story: I purchased a Buffalo NAS 2TB Duo, then later found out they don't support a end user changing a drive if one fails. It has to go back to Buffalo for warranty repair. Buffalo tech support suggest to buy another drive to back up there drive. I could not beleive it, but its true. So I purchased this one for that purpose. I wish I would have just purchased this drive first. I can't return the Buffalo, but it will be the last time I purchase any of ther products again. Was this review helpful?

WD is the only external drive I trust! I've tried others, but none compare to WD's ease of use, set-up, and reliability. This Mirror Book Edition does it all for me. I especially like the automatic back-up from hard drive to external drive. Then it's redundant by mirroring. I've experienced the loss of data one too many times and this appears to be the remedy. I bought the My Book Mirror Edition to use with Time Machine to backup my MacBook Pro. It works very well and was very easy to setup for the Mac, which recognizes that the drive must be reformatted. This seemed to take less than a minute. Once this was done all I had to do was point Time Machine to this drive to start the first backup. The first backup took a couple of hours since this is a USB only drive, but subsequent hourly backups take only a couple of minutes. It's a great product for this purpose since it's inexpensive, should be very reliable with the mirroring capability, and is user serviceable. Was this review helpful?
