I use this drive as my primary business drive. I just plug it into my work desktop or my laptop and perform all business applications. This way, I don't have to transfer files from computer to computer. It is recognized immediatley and performs fast enough for all necessary tasks. The price of these things are coming down. It is certainly worth it to have one. However, a caution ... some devices do not provide power or sufficient current via their USB ports so this drive will not work without an external power supply. Was this review helpful?

The WD 250 is a great piece of extra storage. The size, price and the fact that it is powered through the USB cable made it an easy pick. I have all my music and pictures on the extrenal drive, freeing up my bloated laptop HD for workstuff.
