awesome to have usb, firewire 800 AND eSATA. works great, super fast. only complaint is the finicky power button (i usually end up just unplugging it when it's off).

This drive had what I needed (huge storage at a good price) and what I wanted (USB2.0, Firewire, and eSATA connection options). It came pre-formatted for Mac, but I was able to easily re-initialize and format NTFS for Windows Vista just fine. Using this drive as my nightly backup for my Media Center PC. This drive is very energy efficient, quiet, and looks very nice next to my media center PC/HTPC. The "cylon strobe" of the light is VERY bright, so you'll need to point it away or mask it with something if you're going to use it next to your HTPC in a dark room.

I bought this drive to back up my mac and serve as a NAS when I get my Airport Extreme base-station. I love this drive and use the 500GB version at work. It is super-fast and I love the visual feedback via the white LEDs. Too bad buy.com was out of stock AFTER I placed my order for the airport express... I waited a week and heard nothing. I am sure the drive will play nice though.

Its really fast in transferring the files. really silent and comes with a compact size. Only thing is tht it gets lil hot which I think can be compensated with the performance. If u gonna use it continously dont go for this bcas of its heat emission but for few breaks this is a fine product. This product is for Mac users but if u have a windows dont worry the installation is no big deal. I have a windows vista and it works fine for me.

I purchased this drive after surveying prices and models for weeks. Fast, easy to use, and great price (I think I paid 239 or so). Love the FW 800 using Time Machine under OSX. Formatted 500 GB of it NTFS to backup my home PCs, too. Not too thrilled about the plastic case. Seems cheap.
