5 of 5 WD 160 hard drive Monday, August 25, 2008 A Customer from Chandler, Texas
I plugged this unit in right out of the box without formating and it worked perfectly. I use this drive for my pictures and large Outlook Folders and the transfers were quick. I use the WD Sync included software and it's pretty straight forward & menus take you through the setup.
Great product and great value. Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Good USB drive Sunday, August 24, 2008 Jim Neely from Dripping Springs TX
Very nice USB drive, specially for laptop backup. I'm a nature photographer and backup my RAW images to the USB drive after loading them to the laptop.
This drive is truly plug and play. Worked first time and every time, Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 convenient and reliable Tuesday, August 05, 2008 smwalker07 from Lucinda,Pa.
I bought this Passport 160 for my wife, after having an earlier 120 for myself. Both work well for storage and backup just by installing the WD driver and downloading like a flashdrive. Both computers recognize the Passport immediately. (HP & E-Machine w/Vista). I've had no luck with the WD or Google software. The new model is a slightly different shape than the older model and doesn't have the rubber flap to cover the usb port, but the rounded edges may make it stand up to more abuse. It does have a longer cord than the earlier version, which was a complaint for some desktop users. The new model is noisier than my totally silent older version, but not noticeable if you don't have both to compare. With a year of use on my 120 and daily use for my daughter's My Book e-sata, I've come to trust WD for reliability and performance. Was this review helpful?
