If WE INVENTED THE REMIX was simply an unadorned compilation of past hits on Combs's Bad Boy label it would be impressive enough, but Puffy ups the ante on his pop legacy by updating the tracks with his vaunted remix skills and the addition of guest artists, turning gold into, well, more gold. New cuts by R&B siren Ashanti ("Unfoolish") and the Didster himself (most notably the romantically inclined plea for tenderness "I Need a Girl") show that the man remains a player on the move. | | P.
