This phone looked and worked great... It was the envy of friends and family, until we started scrambling for calls a few months later... Reason? 'Searching for base'... You'd have to reboot the system for the phones to re-initialize with the base (of course, you've lost r call)... It's been pretty frustrating of late and yes, I won't be buying this phone again... I was having problems with incoming calls that went directly to voice mail, without ringing. I missed a number of calls that were important to me, and a number I was happy to do without. I had asked my broadband service provider for help, but got very little, since the VOIP service I had was with another company. My VOIP service provider did make some adjustments in my program from their end, but the missed calls continued. It was suggested that I try another phone. I was very unhappy with my aged Siemens phone because the push buttons had become extremely difficult to operate. I took a plunge and putchased this V-Tech phone. Operation has been perfect. Sound quality was great on the old (and on the new) phone. Now I get all my calls and calls are not dropped. I can do all of the functions easily. Was this review helpful?

I needed a new answer machine so thought i would try the V-Tech i5871 and so far it is great. The only bad part is it needs a louder speaker in the base unit they should give an additional charger stand with it. Great style and love the colors and the size. Was this review helpful?
