5 of 5 This Is SATA, Not IDE Friday, November 28, 2008 Tracy from Los Angeles
All of the information on the net about this product is incorrect. If you go to the manufacture's website voxproducts.com, you will see that this enclosure holds a SATA hard drive Was this review helpful?
5 of 5 Relatively easy NAS setup Tuesday, January 29, 2008 Jim from Houston, TX
I love the fact this drive offers both USB and Ethernet capability. I like the previous customer Greg was slight perplex towards the beginning in getting the NAS configured. The manual was really thought to understand. I needed to contact Tech Support in order to get the username & psswd login info; which is in fact "admin" for each. The disk has been recognized each and every time without any further hassle. It's a great buy if you can get in on a rebate promotion. Was this review helpful?

This was a steal when I bought it due to the mail in rebates, but now I am regretting it. As a USB HD it is great and works. As a NAS, this is terrible. I guess it should work great, but I can't figure out how to set it up. I only use Macs and the CD is one of those really small discs that can't go into slot loading optical drives. I e-mailed them to get user names and passwords and still haven't received any reply. I had to use an IP scanner to find the hard drive on the network in the first place since it does not broadcast it's presence at all. Right now it is a paperweight and now I want to get rid of it. 1 of 5 Looks nice but no docs or support Saturday, January 12, 2008 1872nclybourn from USA
Great solid looking quality product but mine had absolutely no documentation or quickstart guide so now it is basically a high tech looking paperweight - the company website has no manuals, no phone tech and the email tech support has yet to respond after 6 days. Needless to say I am extremely disappointed. Go with the Buffalo version of NAS. Was this review helpful?

Absolutely super price for a NAS. The really nice part is that when it's connected to my network I am able to watch movies and play my music anywhere in the house or office. I've also been able use it as a server storage for my small office network without having to spend for a dedicated server. The built-in print server feature is really helpful. I was slightly dissapointed that the drive CD was damaged, but cusotomer service got another one mailed out. Highly would recommend this unit. You're going to love the VOX product design. I've had the drive now for a few days, and been using it as a shared drive between my PC and laptop. It's really portable. Since I'm using this drive as a data server, I need to leave it on 24-7. Despite this, it remains relatively cool. It allows you to add an additional storage device via the USB port. The enclosure surface is scratch resistant. Overall, this drive works great.
