Until the tail end of the 20th century, sports and pop music were mutually exclusive, but once the public (and the sports and music industries) discovered the invigorating effect of playing rhythmic, dance-oriented pop tunes at sporting events, compilations like JOCK JAMS began to proliferate. The fact this is volume four of the JOCK JAMS series gives you some idea of how popular they've proven to be.
