Album Notes and Credits

Notes & Personnel Info
MUSIC FROM AND INSPIRED BY TONY HAWK'S PRO SKATER 3 contains a bonus multimedia CD-ROM.
Compilation producers: Nelson Bae, Lori Lahman.
This is an Enhanced CD, which contains both regular audio tracks and multimedia computer files.
This collection of skate-punk and related genres, which appears under the name of extreme skateboard superman Tony Hawk, is both a homage to and a soundtrack for 'boarding. Punk mainstays NOFX's "What's the Matter With Parents Today?" neatly encapsulates the perennial problem of kids with overly hip parents ("Mom and dad/I think you ought to quit smoking so much pot/and hanging with my friends"), while Pennywise's chunky "Who's On Your Side" is a slice of teen alienation for the ages.
Comment on social and world unrest is the order of the day with many of the bands featured here. Inimitable progressive hip-hoppers Outkast speed-rap their way through the topical "B.O.B. (Bombs Over Baghdad)," and nu-metal kings Papa Roach's "Infest" is a thrashing poke in the eye to authority figures the world over. Most of the cuts here point up an intelligent and (mostly) subtle analysis of the world in which the kids find themselves, whether they're skateboard enthusiasts or not, but it's left to Ozomatli and their "Cut Chemist Suite" to offer the obvious solution--just dance your way out.
