Album Notes and Credits

Notes & Personnel Info
Some of the music on this compilation was available on a now-deleted 2-CD set of the same title and some tracks appear here for the first time.
Includes liner notes by Nuala O'Connor.
Like its predecessor, the second volume of Bringing It All Back Home, a trilogy of albums drawn from a five-part 1991 BBC documentary, traces "the influence of Irish music" (as the subtitle says) with a combination of traditional performances and original material. On tracks specially recorded (and in some cases written) for the documentary, Irish acoustic musicians are joined by fellow countrymen (including members of U2), along with such sympathetic rock and country performers as Elvis Costello, Emmylou Harris, Ricky Skaggs, Richard Thompson, and the Waterboys. The result is a feast of Irish and Irish-influenced music that confirms the island's influence on the development of popular music around the world. ~ William Ruhlmann

Producer: Donal Lunny (Compilation)

Engineer: Andrew Bolland
