The image quality and performance of the adapter are very good. I have two Media Centers running Vista Ultimate. The main system uses an onboard dual tuner which image quality is barely as good as that of the ATI USB tuner. On the bad side... needs a bit of work to get this thing running... Best to stay away from the ATI software suite, especially if you already have Media Center... just install the driver w/o the application, Windows should be able to work with it. Works in 64bit as well, which is still bonus nowadays.

The tuner works, but barely. The software was shaky at best; I got the best performance by using quick play with vista home premium. Neither the remote, the digital tuner nor the fm worked at all. I tried emailing support for the tuner, and got a faq answer which didnt help at all. The tuner with quick play does work fairly well with analog cable channels.

The product installed easily. Note there is an error in the install procedure. There is a tech note for the product installation on ATI's web site. The product works correctly in all aspects using Microsoft Media Center under XP Media Center Edition 2005. The only problem is a slight skipping of ATSC video, but this is apparently a Media Center problem as has been documented on several Media Center forums. No solution is apparent at present. Unfortunately, under ATI's Catalyst Media Center, there are many problems. FM radio will not play stations. NTSC video works OK. Scanning for ATSC stations on an antenna hangs the program. The program displays some ATSC stations but without call signs. ATI tech support askad me to update my chipset, BIOS and video driver but that did not help. The latest request was to try another USB port, but the driver failed to install. My system is a Dell Dimension E510, 3 Gb, XP Media Center Edition 2005, and an ATI X300 video card.

I tried for almost a month to get this to work. Sometimes it almost worked so I kept trying. Instructions are poor to nonexistent. Support is useless. I did get it to show a fine picture on my HPzd8000. However,,,, If I put the computer to sleep, I had to start from the beginning. The TV guides did not work. could not set a recording. It did record a show manually. When i finnally gave up trying to make it work and tried to return it I found out that it only had a 14 day return period.... Any body want it cheap?

Install the software, plug it in, and it works with great tv pictures on the PC. I get essentially the same channels as the standard full size HDTV, with excellent picture quality (about 40 channels in our "fringe" area halfway between Richmond and Virginia Beach)). I had originally purchased a usb tuner that cost $50 less, but it produced absolutely nothing watchable (same antenna connection, a pair of amplified rabbit ears!). So you really do get something more for a few extra bucks.
