8 of 8 customers found this review helpful. 5 of 5 Decent memory for a decent price. Monday, August 16, 2004 Basil M. from San Diego, CA
A few months ago I bought my first digital camera, an HP PS735. The camera only has 16MB of internal memory, and decent-quality pictures take up about 1.5MB of space, so it fills up pretty fast on just an average photo-taking session. Fortunately, the camera accepts SD memory so this is not too much of a problem. I got a 64MB SanDisk SD memory card included when I bought the camera, and it helped, but I still ended up having to delete pictures and decide which ones I wanted to keep. Not a good thing!
I found a link to Buy.Com from the Spoofee.com shopping site and the price seemed really good for the Viking 128MB SD Memory Card, so I jumped. After 20-dollar mail-in rebate (which I should be receiving soon) it only cost me about 15 dollars. I have not heard any bad things about Viking's other products, so I figured I would give their memory a try.
Now, I run out of battery power before memory space! Have not had any corrupt images yet (knock on wood). Read/write speed seems pretty much the same as my SanDisk card. Only thing different is the speed of deleting files from my camera -- there seems to be about a 2-second delay. This could be my camera though, and it's just a minor inconvenience.
Overall, I would recommend this memory if you are running out of space and need an affordable alternative to the more expensive brands. Was this review helpful?
