Picked one of these babies up last week on sale at $159 replacing an older Samsung normal aspect flatscreen. Colors are vibrant and look great and the widescreen aspect means no scrolling right and left to find the rest of the data columns on spreadsheets and stock quotes. The monitor was purchased as an upgrade for a family member. The 22" Viewsonic monitor is awesome. Colors are brilliant, contrast is great, and in it's native resolution is fully HD. Settings, for the most part, can be left at nominal for a clear sharp picture. The price, from buy.com, was the best on the web. Was this review helpful?

I have it hooked up to a desktop PC and a docking station for my laptop. It switches between the DVI and D-SUB inputs easily and quickly. Internal speakers are nice for basic sound, and help make more space on desktop, but overall sound quality is not great (as I expected).
I don't have a tv tuner card in my PC, so I haven't tried using it as an HDTV.
Overall, the monitor itself has a great picture and very crisp. Was this review helpful?

This is an excellent monitor, I use it in my home office where it is bright during the daytime but I have no problems with color or contrast. A plus to the flat panel - I gained a ton of space on my desk when I took out the old 19" CRT! Now I'm looking to add a TV tuner card to my PC so I can use it as a high definition TV. For $200 after rebate, I can't find much to complain about with this monitor. Its black levels aren't the best, but again, at this price, I didn't expect them to be. Text is very legible, and video (especially 1080P .mov files) looks great. Eventually I want to hook up a PS3 (with a 2-port DVI switcher), and I think that this monitor would serve that purpose well.
Overall, the biggest factor behind my decision to purchase this monitor was that it would display 1080p native without requiring me to use a 24" LCD. I would definitely recommend this monitor to others. Was this review helpful?
