i am using this product (Viewsonic VX1940W Widescreen LCD Monitor) to display 720p resolution television in my kitchen so that my wife and cook and watch quality TV and it works great! (it does require hdmi to dvi converter) Was this review helpful?

The image is really sharp, no dead pixels. Switching between two different inputs is a little confusing, which is the reason I gave ease of use a 3. There's also no vertical adjustment so you can't raise or lower the monitor. Was this review helpful?

I currently have a PowerBook that was getting "light lines" all through the screen. This, unfortunately, is not something that is recalled and would cost hundreds to fix. I chose this monitor out of many I was searching because of the price, the name brand and size. It was delivered quick, hooked up even quicker and looks GREAT. I am so very pleased with this monitor. It will extended my computers by several years. I am starting to play online games more because this monitor looks so great. I would definitely recommend this to everyone. Was this review helpful?

Been using for 3 weeks now. Monitor looks great but the viewing angles are terrible. I think it says something like 5-10 degrees but it almost seems like a privacy screen b/c at angels of 45 or more the monitor is not very viewable...

The big feature attracting me to this display was it's native resolution of 1680 x 1050. That's not what most 19-inch LCDs are running and it was very usable, making system and application items about what they would be on a laptop display - very sharp, yet not too small for my eyes. There was more visible color variation from top to bottom than I am used to seeing from Viewsonic LCDs and I have a number of them and have worked with a number of other models, also. The DVI and VGA inputs worked well and at the native resolution. It works fine for video or DVD playback. Besides the color variation, the other issue that the display lacked was height adjustment. Vertically, the screen angle could be adjusted a little, but it sits low and can't be move up, so you may, as I did, wish to put a book, block of wood, etc. under it, just to get it to a decent height. In my case, I used it next to a 20-inch display running the same resolution and it definitely needed to be up higher to match the level of the other Viewsonic display. Was this review helpful?
