Purchase 4 of these well over a year ago and all off them are still running without any problems. Would buy again at that price and I think these are some of the best we have.

    5 of 5 Great Tuesday, February 10, 2009
    C.Clark from Greensboro, NC
This item just arrived today. It was a breeze to hook up and my computer had no problems recognizing it. It looks stunning at max resolution, running Windows Vista Ultimate. This is a great monitor at a great price. I had some issues with Fed Ex though so the 2 day shipping turned into 5 days before I received it. Buy.com should fire Fed Ex and go with UPS. Other than that I am pleased with my purchase and have already ordered another one along with two Acer Aspire M3201 desktops. You can't find anything any cheaper than Buy.com. Period.

4 of 5 Stay close by Monday, December 29, 2008
    Tom from Key West, FL
When another monitor bit the dust I got this Viewsonic as a replacement. After putting it on line, I was very disappointed with the shadows behind/beside icons. Though afraid it was a defective unit, the Knowledge Base pinpointed the problem as a VGA cable too long. I switched from the 10 footer that I'd been using to the 6 footer supplied and all was well except for having to rearrange the office to accommodate the shorter cable.

5 of 5 Huge upgrade improvement Thursday, November 20, 2008
    A Customer from Plano, TX
I upgraded from a 20" CRT which seemed good enough, but after plugging the ViewSonic monitor in I could not believe what I had been missing in the graphic details. Easy install.

5 of 5 View Sonic -great monitor Sunday, October 26, 2008
    A Customer from Orlando Fl
Great price on a great monitor. We've had a number of View Sonic monitors and they've all been great. No problems with any of them. They were replaced by choice via upgrading to new technology, not because there were ever any problems.

    5 of 5 Absolutely fantastic! Thursday, October 09, 2008
    rathmorg from Bridgeton, NJ
I love this monitor! When my beloved Veiwsonic 19" LCD died I immediately looked for a replacement. I can across this beauty and the price and size couldn't be better!(got 30 bucks off for using my buy.com CC and another 30 for the mail in rebate. $159 for this monitor is a steal!) Better yet, I ordered it on Wednesday at 2pm EST and I was blown away when it showed up at 12pm the very NEXT DAY! (Yes, I took advantage of the $5.49 2 day shipping, but wow! Less then one day delivery!) No dead pixels, a breeze to hook up(I had a DVI cable from my old Viewsonic) and I'm a happy camper. Clean, crisp and beautiful. I simply love it!

5 of 5 Great affordable monitor Monday, October 06, 2008
A Customer from Freehold, New Jersey
This is my fourth ViewSonic monitor and my first LCD. I'd hesitated to switch to LCD because I wasn't impressed with the picture quality in my price range until now, but I wanted to move beyond my 19" CRT (which is six years old and still going strong - I gave it to a family member). I looked at other brands in the retail stores but found myself drawn back to ViewSonic once again. Setup was fast and easy and the colors and clarity are excellent. My only complaint is the price went down and the rebate increased five days after I bought it :(

This is my Third ViewSonic Monitor and like the others I love it. Has a Cristal clear picture, perfect colors and in top of everything great price. This has been my biggest monitor so far and is incredible to say it has been the lowest price I have ever paid for a ViewSonic.

    5 of 5 Fantastic value! Wednesday, April 16, 2008
    A Customer from Rocklin, CA
I love this monitor - especially for the very reasonable price! I am not a techie, and the setup was super easy for me. Beautiful color and perfect screen. I think this screen is limited by my video card. I'm sure it can do a lot more than I need. But I love the ease on my eyes and neck from having this large screen now! And I also love the fact that it works with my VGA desktop and my DVI laptop. The buy.com experience was great too. Fast, free shipping!

4 of 5 Great Product with bad support. Thursday, April 10, 2008
    sparrownightmare from Toledo, OH
I just moved up to the VA2226w and I have to tell you it's a great monitor. Clear images with vivid colors and great response time at 5ms. Black could be a bit blacker, but all in all, for it's size and price point, it just can't be beat. The monitor has a dark side however. I had to return the first one I bought due to dead pixels. Viewsonic support was no help at all, so I was lucky that it was still in the resellers return period. The second one was fine when I received it. Unfortunately they both have one other issue. If you turn the monitor off, you only get a no signal message when you turn it back on and you need to reboot the computer to get it going again. Viewsonic support is horrible these days and they want me to ship this back to them at my cost. They simply do not stand behind their products anymore and their tech support people are just CSRs trained to do RMAs I think. In short great monitor but pray it never needs support...

    5 of 5 Great Value!!! Tuesday, April 01, 2008
    Teddy95 from Xenia, OH
I come a long way with ViewSonic and so far can’t complaint. Always get what I pay for. This is my third generation in ViewSonic monitor display, and can’t be any better. By the way, this is the cheapest amount I have ever paid for a ViewSonic. Like always I will recommend ViewSonic.

    5 of 5 Great Monitor - Great Price Wednesday, March 19, 2008
    A Customer from Eastsound, WA
I was envious of my wife's new Mac and the giant monitor that includes. Determined to get a brand name, wide screen monitor at a good price, I researched lots of possibilities. ViewSonic is a well-established brand that I trusted. The price (with rebate) made it a sure thing. Installation was very simple (plug and play basically). Very pleased. The free shipping and no tax from Buy.com makes it a no-brainer.

    5 of 5 ViewSonic VA2226W - 22" Widescreen LCD Monito Thursday, March 06, 2008
    drglenn from Louisa, VA
Bright, sharp and large enough for most tasks, this ViewSonic monitor is a satisfying replacement for an aging 20" Sceptre flat-panel. Prices have come down significantly on LCD monitors, but the deal on this ViewSonic for $229 is particularly good - especially considering its premium brand. No dead pixels, although, this seems like a "dying" issue with newer models in general. Right now (i.e. nearing the end of first quarter 2008) 19"-23" flat screens are the "sweet-spot" price/performance-wise. Expect to pay 50-100% more for a 24" monitor, although you can probably count on that to change, too, (like anything else). Also, with the more recently adopted 1.6 W/H ratio compared with the older 1.33 (4:3) ratio, the same diameter monitor is now smaller than it was (area-wise). "Monitor people" have been this "diameter savvy" since the early days of television. Little did Pythagorus know that his theorem would be used to sell monitors thousands of years in the future! Bottom line: This monitor is well worth the cost for a business-class monitor, and worth even more if you happen to own a color calibration device.

    3 of 5 2nd review found a problem Sunday, March 02, 2008
    A Customer from Rochester, NY
I wrote a review a few weeks after I received this and it still holds true. I just wanted to add to it. It has a problem were if it stops receiving a signal to the DVI port for more than a second it switches to the VGA port where I have nothing coming in. then it reports no signal and I can't get it back to the dvi port. I contacted viewsonic again and they still want me to return it at my shipping cost. They told me to try a different cable but I don't think thats the problem. This affects it if windows takes too long to go between the welcome screen and the desktop. Generally it is not a problem as I have a multiple monitor setup but that is the primary. Also I still have not received the rebate back and it has been 8 weeks. Just something to consider when purchasing. I still think its a great monitor when it works.

5 of 5 Excellent performer and great value Tuesday, February 19, 2008
    keeters94 from Crystal Lake, IL
I've had this monitor for 1 month and this has been an excellent purchase for my video editing needs. I have a 128MB AT 2400HD video card that works with this monitor very well. Video playback is crisp and clear. Accurate and consistent color display. I am very pleased. The only negative is that I find the buttons a little cumbersome to use when switching between 2 desktop systems. My previous monitor had a dedicated button for this function. With this one you have to use 2 buttons. Very minor. No gaming experience on this monitor.

1 of 5 "Dead" Pixels and will not pay for shipp Monday, February 18, 2008
    A Customer from Cranford, NJ
Recieved this ViewSonic monitor along with an HP desktop computer today. Out of the box, the ViewSonic monitor has some "Dead" pixels and has some darkness/showdowing along the right edge. Called ViewSonic customer support and they want me to pay for shipping and they will "try" and fix the monitor - which will take over two weeks! I stated that I just recieved the monitor today with these defects and that they should pay for the shipping - to no avail. Will NOT be buying ViewSonic again!

    4 of 5 Excellent Monitor Tuesday, February 12, 2008
    jloram from Ashland, OR
After 8 years it was time to retire my two Viewsonic 21ps 21" CRT monitors. They were becoming noticibly dimm. I'd been running the my CRT monitors at 1280x1024 because I couldn't read the tiny font at higher resolutions. All I did was disconnect the old monitors and reconnect the new LCD monitors. The new LCD monitors came up at the lower 1280x1024 resolution looking pretty good, but then I set up the native 1600x1050 and WOW! I tried running the viewsonic driver-wizard which didn't detect the new monitors (possibly because I'm running a pair of really old Voodoo 3 video adapters) so had to manually install the drivers. One bad pixel on each monitor afer 5 days of operation. Hopefully there'll be no more. I had to lower the brightness from the factory set 75% to 60% because it was so bright!

    4 of 5 A Wednesday, February 06, 2008
    A Customer from Rochester, NY
Pros: It was a good deal. I bought this a couple of weeks ago and there were no dead pixels. The performance is everything I expected. Did the free shipping and had it in 3 days Cons: No DVI cable. Every so often I boot my computer everything comes on like it should and after the windows (XP) welcome screen and the desktop loads there's no picture just a no signal message. Now I have a multiple monitor setup so it usually isn't so bad but thats the primary monitor and most things come up on it. Windows thinks its there but nothing is sending the signal. I called ViewSonic (waste of an hour and a half) and they told me to ship it back at my cost. I've narrowed it down to a driver problem but I don't know how to fix it. I just reboot a couple of times and it comes back on.

    Jason from Converse, Texas
getting 2 more. i love them. no dead pixels no bleading, they are great. The only thing keeping it from an all 5 review is the stand. There isn't a way to disconnect for wall mounting. The tail on the monitor just hangs there, but other than that, they are awesome!!!!Cant wait for the other 2 to get here for an array of 6

    5 of 5 Reliable monitor Tuesday, January 22, 2008

It has worked well for more than 4 months and the only con is the 5ms refresh latency may be too much for FPS games. Indeed it's not a deficiency of the product but only a remark for those gamers look into it.

    5 of 5 VERY NICE Monday, January 21, 2008
    A Customer from Oregon
It's a great price for a 22" wide-screen. Although the native resolution is 1680x1050, it can be increased up if your video card can handle it. I got it running at 1920x1200, and the clarity...WOW. I can view two full web browsers side-by-side. Would definitely order another one if I my desk was bigger.

3 of 5 Large stuck pixel Sunday, January 20, 2008
    bhuey from Sparta, Tn.
Monitor shows fine, but has a large blue stuck pixel right in the center area of the screen and is very noticeable. I figured Viewsonic would not send out merchandise like this or I would not have purchased it. I have tried different methods of removing this stuck pixel including software methods plus applying pressure to the spot, but it still shows up.

4 of 5 Good for the price Thursday, January 17, 2008
A Customer from New Paltz, New York
It doesn't swivel...it doesn't come with any DVI-D connector, but for the bucks, it's not bad even with the analog video connector. If you have a Mac made in this century like me, you'll need the adapter that you probably stored somewhere to get the vga cable hooked up. I have cinema displays and I wish I could say the Viewsonic was close to their quality...it's not, at least under the present circumstances using an analog connector. Of course it's less than a 1/3 of the price ($230 compared to a 23 Cinema Display at $899). The lack of any kind of swivel is probably the biggest hit in design. It does make it a pain to set up at a working angle, but if you are using it as a second palette monitor and not doing critical color work, it's fine. Great cheap way to give a kid a big screen without busting your wallet. It is kinda ugly especially compared to the Apple monitors, but as Farmer Hogget says "it'll do pig...it'll do."

    4 of 5 Expected a bit more quality Wednesday, January 16, 2008
    Tom from Chicago, IL
The setup of the monitor is very fast and simple. Once I buy my DVI cable, it's pretty much just plug and play. What is disappointing here is that there are 2 bad pixels from the get go. I guess I have been kinda spoil in the past, most of my LCD monitor purchases were great and no problem with bad pixels. I am in a way disappointed since I believe viewsonic is one of the better brand name out there. The monitor works ok and the 2 bad pixels is simply not bad enough for me return it for another unit.

I have this set at 1024 x 768 to replace my 19" LCD regular size screen (4 x 3). My wife's eysight is not the best, and with this monitor, she is so pleased with the increase in size of fonts and ease of viewing. My take is superb resolution, bright and vivid colors, and a good warranty. I highly recommend it.

5 of 5 I Bought Two, Twice as Fantastic Wednesday, January 16, 2008
    Raisons from Phoenix, Arizona
These two replaced my aging pair of 19" ViewSonic CRT Monitors. What a difference. The vivid colors and clarity are great. Now I have some room on my desk, as the old monitors were 20" deep. Check around and get the details of the different manufactures warranties. View Sonic has the BEST. The setup was trivial, the results are fantastic.

    5 of 5 She's a beaut! Wednesday, January 16, 2008
    Eric G. from Atlanta, GA
My first ViewSonic product is awesome. It's a whole lot of visual real estate for not alot of money and looks just as good (if not, better) as any other monitor I've ever owned. Also, I ordered the monitor late afternoon and it arrived the next morning! Awesome.

5 of 5 This is one great monitor deal Wednesday, January 09, 2008
    rukluk from Phoenix, AZ
Slick-looking widescreen 24 inch LCD . After my 19" Samsung LCD and a couple of 17" CRTs, this unit is BIG. Also bright, crystal clear, and fast, with true, well-defined colors. I bought it to show off a new showcase machine I'm building, and I can't wait to see how it handles a an Intel Quad, XFX 8800GPS and 8G memory. In the meantime, I have it hooked up to my workhorse Acer 3.2G Celeron with 4GB memory but only an Intel onboard video and an analog cable, and the Viewsonic monitor makes the machine look like a gamer outfit. The new machine will plug in with DVI digital right next to the Acer so both boxes will share this monitor. I'm psyched. The only thing that might bother some people is that max resolution for this monitor is pegged at 1680x1050, which is plenty fine for me but might not handle ultra-high graphics needs. And the stand is adjustable, with no stability problems. This is a 5+ for me at a very low price for this kind of size and performance.

    4 of 5 almost perfect Wednesday, January 09, 2008
    Schizophrenic from Wallsburg, Utah
This monitor works as advertised and is a great deal. My only complaint is that it auto senses whether the D-SUB or DVI connection is active and automatically switches to the active connection, if the other goes temporarily inactive. I have two computers hooked up to the monitor, a Mac and a Vista machine, and whenever the graphics card in the Vista machine temporarily loses its picture, the monitor reverts. I wish I could force it to stay on one or the other connection. Damn Microsoft!

    5 of 5 Nice monitor Monday, January 07, 2008
    A Customer from Hampton, VA
The 22" widescreen has nice proportions for a home monitor. The 19" WS is a bit small. This monitor has good sharpness and the display is bright. Response has been good when watching videos and playing games (nVidia 6600GT). The only downside has been the interpolation artifacts when using full screen on videos with considerably less resolution than the 1600x1024 monitor. There are cheaper monitors out there, but this monitor is a good balance between price and performance.

    5 of 5 Good Screen Sunday, December 23, 2007
A Customer from Clifton Park, NY
This was a very good screen that was easy to set up in minutes. Compared to the 17 inch screen we used to have it feels a lot bigger. Works better on certain screen resolutions.

    5 of 5 Super-Sweet Friday, December 21, 2007
    Sambo from Buford, GA
Out of the box this monitor is sweet. As a gamer going to my first LCD I was worried about response time and contrast ratio. I have put this thing through the paces and I have no complaints. There isn't any ghosting at all. The colors look great! In total darkness, with a dark desktop, there is some minor backlight bleeding at the top of the display but I am not worried about it. It isn't noticeable unless you are looking for it. I can't wait till my second one arrives so I can rock my dual 22" screens!

    5 of 5 Viewsonic rocks Wednesday, December 19, 2007
    A Customer from Whitewater, wi
I have several Viewsonic monitors and the VA2226w is the best of all of them. This monitor is very bright and has excellent sharpness. I trade markets, so I use a lot of charts and the clarity of graphs on this monitor is excellent. I would highly recommend this monitor!!!!

5 of 5 fast delivery, great monitor Friday, December 07, 2007
A Customer from san jose, ca
I have a Samsung 19 inch lcd monitor. compare these two, Viewsonice is much sharper and brighter. I like it. the only feature missing is: you can't tilt the monitor 90 degree because of un-adjustable stand.

    5 of 5 Terrific Product Sunday, December 02, 2007
Ken and Liz from Franklin Square, NY
Can't find anything to criticize, even constructively. Works well, looks great. We did upgrade our video card which led to an even better look on the screen. Very pleased with the product and the transaction with buy.com. It even appears that the rebate process is going smoothly which is not always the case with rebates on electronic items.

    5 of 5 Beautiful! Saturday, December 01, 2007
    Dan from Kingston, PA
I always wanted an LCD monitor and never wanted to part with the money. Now that I have it I continue to say to myself, "Idiot, you should have done it sooner". Great monitor! I'd recommend it to anyone who was thinking about it.

    5 of 5 Monitor is a great value Friday, November 30, 2007
    A Customer from Dayton, Ohio
I was very pleased with this monitor. The clarity of the text on websites is fantastic. It also is great for gaming...brings out all the detail in game graphics and is much easier to see what is going on in dungeons.
