    5 of 5 No problems or issues --- Sunday, November 30, 2008
    BB from Allen, Texas
The TV set-up was very easy, using a HD sat. receiver. Picture is very good on HD content and better than average on the digital content. The only small nit is the volume control. Not a lot of volume and the control is skewed toward the louder end for its variability. Since it is being used in the bedroom, there is no need for outstanding surround sound or audio performance. It was a great buy and I am still happy with it several months later.

    4 of 5 Thought it was a TV Tuesday, September 23, 2008
A Customer from The Villages Florida
I purchased this thinking it was a TV but soon found out it is really intended to be used as a computer monitor. As a tv is is ok, the picture is alittle dull even compared to my old tube unit. For my needs it is ok.

5 of 5 Skeptical but now I couldn't be more happier Tuesday, August 26, 2008
    billy2step from LOUISIANA
At first after reading the reviews i was a little skeptical from all the defects and tv channel problems. Now, after i got it i happy with it, everytime i look at it im like yessssss sweet buy. Only thing is the tv channels makes humans a little orange but using a dvd no orange effect. I got it for MLG gaming and its awesome, great 720p using the hd vga cables. And the tv is so sexy compared to my giant bulky tv i had before this one. Great buy!

5 of 5 Worth Every Penny Sunday, August 24, 2008
A Customer from Oak Park, MI
I bought this as a replacement for a 13" tube TV that my kids were using. The picture is very sharp, colors are bright, and the contrast is great. Can not expect it to be outstanding for that amount of money and the specs but it is very close. For every day broadcast viewing of children shows and DVDs the choice is obvious. I have watched some action movies on it and the performance was great. I had done a lot of research before deciding on this one and was glad to find it at BUY for the best price. I find that the sound on most of these small TVs are adequate and you should not expect it to compare it to a tube TV or a home theatre system :-). There have been some advances in the contrast ratio and response time of models in this class since I bought it but at the time it was the obvious choice. Contrast ratio is the most important spec. If you watch a lot of action things then response time is the next most important spec. I actually like the controls being on top of the TV so that the children can not mess with the A/V settings.

4 of 5 Good overall value Saturday, August 23, 2008
    Ron from Portland, OR
I have used this for two weeks now, and it is working just fine, as both my bedroom tv and computer monitor. The base seems a little flimsy, but I don't have to move the tv, so this is not an issue. Also, it only has 2 1/2 watts per channel going to the speakers, so if you want more sonic capability, you should use the RCA preamp outs and hook up to an amplifier. It sounds fine in a smaller room.

4 of 5 Good monitor and TV, except... Sunday, July 13, 2008
    Philidor from Hartford, CT
Arrives with only the power cord. You need your own monitor cord and cable wire. Fixed on its base. You can't change height or angle. For TV, uses its own built-in speakers. You can't hook it to your own speakers. I called. Good value for the money and a great way to save space. But there are annoyances.

5 of 5 Great TV, excellent buy on Buy.Com Tuesday, May 27, 2008
    JM from New York
I am very pleased with this TV/monitor. Excellent picture quality, easy to setup. I had shopped around on the web for TV's of this size, and this was by far the best deal going. I have 2 other Viewsonic computer LCDs and a 37" Viewsonic TV as well and have been very pleased with all of them. Viewsonic is better quality than a lot of the lower priced TV's from what I have seen reviewed on the Web.

5 of 5 Well worth the money Monday, May 12, 2008
    Duppi from Oak Park, MI
This TV/monitor has very good specs and the price is right. I have it connected via S-Video and the picture is VERY good. I used Finding Nemo as a test and it passed with flying colors in comparison to a full 32" LCD TV. One of the things that convinced me to buy was other ratings and its contrast ratio which is great for the price.

    mistajb from Willow Creek, CA
This tv has it all- lcd monitor/hd tv, hdmi, easy setup and stunning clarity and color. I want to buy the next size up or bigger for our livingroom and replace the junky westinghouse hd tv, which has given us nothing but problems. I recommend this tv for anyone who wants a bedroom, kitchen, office, or lcd monitor for thier computer. JB

2 of 5 Disappointing picture and features Saturday, March 22, 2008
    Jim W. from Madras, OR
I had great experience with Viewsonic monitors, so I thought it was a good choice for a HDTV for my bedroom and a back-up computer monitor. It was a wrong choice. I has poor view angle performance. Vertical is worse than horizontal. This problem is compounded by an unmovable, fixed pedestal. Does not have adequate color correction. Turn-on and channel switching times are too long. Sound is poor. This purchase would not have been made if I had a chance to preview it. I would return it if I could.

    2 of 5 Quite disappointed Monday, March 17, 2008
    A Customer from Morristown, NJ
My first and only digital TV. Operates on standard cable. Pictures and sound with my cheap old CRT TV were fairly good. Analog signals on the Viewsonic are very poor. I can access digital versions of these channels but at channel numbers that can not be entered directly 94-4 for example. Only quick way is with favorites. Sound volume on the digital channels is not enough when trying to overcome background noise (must push to 100% - forget it in a public place!!). Then on switching to one of the analog channels - wow is that load - the feed is so different. Switching between channels takes a couple seconds to tune in - very annoying if you want to channel surf. Color has been very difficult to get right - finally fairly satisfactory - but my CRT was better. It seemed like a good value for the size - but if this is what the new digital TV world is all about, I am not looking forward to next year and the death of analog. The lesson for me - I will not buy another LCD TV based solely on reviews and price. It must be a model that I can test in the store - including analog signals.

5 of 5 Excellent LCD and Fantastic price. Saturday, March 08, 2008
    Dan from Las Cruces, NM
Fantastic price from Buy.com. I have now purchased both the 19" LCD HDTV (Mstbath) and this 22" LCD HDTV (Kitchen). They scaned my cable service and I now receive more TV stations (and numerious music station) than my old anolog tv. Pros: PRICE! The color and picture are excellent! The built in tuner receives all the free tv and music stations. EZ to to set up and use. High quality LCD HDTV unit. Cons: The pictures are a little on the dark side, (LCD charteristic?). I have not spent any time to try and adjust the brightness or the contrast, yet.

    5 of 5 ViewSonic NX2232W - 22" Widescreen LCD HDTV Tuesday, February 26, 2008
A Customer from League City, TX
Easy to setup and get going. The Menu would be better if it was bigger in size and had a few more options that would allow you to tweak the picture better. The speakers are a little weak at 5 watts. Overall a good little LCD TV, great picture using HDMI input.

2 of 5 OK for monitor but not as a TV Wednesday, February 20, 2008
    A Customer from Topeka, KS
First be aware that buy.com does not accept returns of any kind for this item. This is OK as a monitor (good resolution) but not as a TV. The sound is hollow and the on screen text is way too small. The remote is also very cheap feeling. I bought this to replace a TV. If I could return it I would.

    3 of 5 Not a very good product Tuesday, February 19, 2008
    csanders from Greensbor, GA 30642
Instructions for operating very poor. Upon turning on, the Sonic logo comes up and then you have to select channel. Remote often does not transmit properly or the set does not receive properly. If it does not, the set turns off and you have to start over. Colors are not very good compared to my othet LCD HD Tv.

    5 of 5 Viewsonic quality Sunday, February 17, 2008
    trench19 from New Orleans, Louisiana
This is my third Viewsonic TV. This is a great little HDTV (720), with an excellent picture, lightweight, and a perfect size for the corner of my desk. With the speakers below the screen, it fits great. Although it does not swivel up/down or left/right, that's easy enough to remedy since it is weighs so little. And, if you wallmount it, the wallmount can take care of that problem. Highly recommended. Excellent value!

4 of 5 Analog could be better, but nice overall..... Sunday, February 17, 2008
    Billy from Lancaster, SC
After looking at several "cheapies", I decided to spend a little more on this LCD from Viewsonic. I have had good experience in the past with Viewsonic's PC monitors, and this is essentially a PC monitor with a digital tuner built in. I like almost everything about this TV, with the exception of the picture quality on analog cable which isn't to imply that it is bad, or even worse than most other LCD's, I just wish it could be better. Of course this won't even be an issue after February '09. Everything else looks pretty nice. The sound is surprisingly clear and soundtracks from movies are very enjoyable for this size of TV. I had to deduct points for the stand that the tv comes with. You have two options with it, on or off. There are NO other adjustments (tilt, pivot, etc.) with it. I bought it for my three year old's room to replace a 13" CRT with a built in DVD. I have been able to connect analog CATV, a Play Station 2, and a PC to it and still have inputs left. It definitely serves it purpose well and I would recomend it to anyone looking for a nice 22" LCD for a decent price.

3 of 5 Clunky Interface and slow tuner Saturday, February 16, 2008
    A Customer from Pacifica, CA
Could have been so much better. I am returning it to Viewsonic for a replacement and would have asked for a refund but I didn't buy it from them, so it was a repair or an exchange. The tuner was the big problem: in many cases, it would take close to 10 seconds of seeing a blue screen before the channel's picture would show. The remote worked the menus intermittently and often the TV response lagged so very badly that I had to remove the nearly-new batteries to see if this helped get the remote working again. Menuing system was on the clunky side and was either slow to respond or closed too quickly (e.g. Favorites button) to make it easy. Picture was oversaturated red in the default mode and the sound was thin until I hooked up a 2.1 speaker system to it, and even then it hummed at 60 hz if there was no sound. Couple of bright dead pixels in an otherwise black screen did not help matters either.

    5 of 5 1st LCD TV Saturday, February 16, 2008
    A Customer from Columbus, OH
I bought this for my wife's tanning salon. I have had to for about 1 month now. We have cable service, but it has picked up the HDTV signals from the air as well without using any rabbit ears. The picture is very good on the regular channels and obviously much better on the HD ones. No problems with the sound either. I mounted about 8ft off the ground, 12ft from the waiting room chairs, in the center of the 40ft long wall. It is easly seen from either corner of the room. I am considering buying a 2nd for home, and putting it in the bed room. Only disappointment was that I threw the box away without getting the UPC code for the rebate, thus $30 down the drain.

    5 of 5 ViewSonic NX2232W 22" tv Tuesday, February 05, 2008
    L. George from Aurora, Ohio
Very good product. Ordered product and received it 3 days later. Easy to set up wright out of the box. Picture is clear and remote is easy to use (doesn't have a lot of buttons to push) wife likes that feature. Only down side is the screen is on a fixed mount stand, doesn't tilt. I would recomend the product, good value for the price. I would like to add, I've purchased several items from Buy.com and have not been disapointed with their service.

    5 of 5 A few problems; excellent picture Monday, February 04, 2008
    John from New York, NY
I bought this TV for a dorm room and it is working out very well. The picture quality is very crisp in HD and the onscreen menu does a good job of allowing you to fine tune the picture. I did have issues trying to hook up my laptop to the TV for use as an external monitor, the signal kept failing with the standard monitor cord but works reliably using S-video (abet with a worse picture quality). As previous reviewers have claimed the inputs behind the TV are difficult to reach especially if one plans to hook up multiple devices (simply isn't enough room for ones fingers to maneuver). Likewise the stand seems a bit unsteady but I've had no problems with it so far. Overall its a great value for the price and the picture quality in HD is top class in my opinion (comparing the picture to a 42" Sharp Aquos)

    5 of 5 ViewSonic 22" LCD - very nice TV Friday, February 01, 2008
Sam B. from Fountain Hill, PA
I bought one of these to replace a 19" old-sytle (CRT) TV. I think it is a great value for the price, and it works very well. The sound is a bit lacking both in quality and volume, but I use it in a small area, and it is adequate for that. Hint - turn up the bass, it improves the sound. You can always connect it to external speakers if you really need to improve the sound. I showed the TV to a friend of mine, and she liked it so much she also purchased one to use in a bedroom, to replace an old TV, and she really likes it. It has an ATSC tuner which means it will keep working when broadcasts go digital in Feb 2009. It is a good TV for a bedroom or other small area, since it is the equivalent of a 19" screen in the 4:3 format.

    4 of 5 NX2232W HDTV Saturday, January 26, 2008
    A Customer from Michigan
The tv is very good had some trouble wit programing the universal remote as the are no numbers published in the literature that lists the codes for the tv. The bad part of this unit is the location of the connections on the rear. It is very hard to attach anything as you have to turn the unit up side down to see where to make the connections. also, the label for the connections is just raised letters in the plastic housing and you cannot read them very well since it is the same color as the case. That is the worst part of this unit. It is also lacking a sturdy base and it is non tilting. The picture is clear, sound is good considering the size of the built in speakers. Also Buy.com keeps changing the price lower which is good for you and not for me.

5 of 5 Great Bedroom TV Tuesday, January 22, 2008
    A Customer from Denver, Co.
This TV was purchased as a bedroom TV to replace a dead CRT. This was a major upgrade. My only complaint is that the base could be more stable, and it should tilt. I put it on an existing wall mounted arm, which tilts, and I definitely had to tie it down. A new lcd arm was not in the budget, nor would it hold the cable box. Also, in analog, the picture is only ok, and the sound sucks. In digital, both are fantastic.

    5 of 5 Good TV Sunday, January 13, 2008
    A Customer from Allentown, PA
I purchased this item for the bedroom and I only use it as a television to watch cable TV and regular DVD's. I do not use it as a computer display monitor and, at this time, I don't have HD cable service or an HD DVD player. It was easy to setup, it's easy to use, and it works great. It has a nice bright screen. After about 2 months of use, there haven't been any problems.

    4 of 5 Excellent Clarity Saturday, December 15, 2007
    George from Luling, Louisiana
My wife and I recently purchased this 22" so we can take it camping with us and still use it at home. This unit is very light weighing 13-14 lbs. This makes the unit very portable. I was impressed with the picture quality but am unhappy with the audio. The audio system speakers that come with this unit could be better. You will have to turn up the volume a little bit more than usual. I was hoping that there was an audio output so I could connect to my stereo system in the storage compartment of our camper and watch videos, sports outside with good sound quality. As advertised in the Tech Specs; audio: 3.5mm mini stereo audio in/out. I did not find this to be the case. Anyway, we are very pleased with this unit and would purchase other View Sonic products. Thanks for the free shipping and prompt delivery Buy.Com.

    5 of 5 Nice TV/Monitor Wednesday, December 12, 2007
    A Customer from Louisville, Kentucky
Viewsonic has put together a nice monitor. The fancy edges are a little strange at first, but they grow on you. I get free HD over the basic cable line. Its sweet! I highly recommend this monitor. Performance gets a 4 only because the LCD isnt the greatest ever. It works well for the price range. Use of the Dynamic Contrast Rate feature helps keep the TV feed looking awesome. I dont use it for gaming or PC use though. The speakers on the bottom are weak, but they function well enough for me at the moment. Excellent for the college student or anyone looking for a cheap bedroom LCD.
