Just received mine today and it was simple to figure out and start watching and playing on. The picture is great, would recommend this to a friend, especially for the price. Diddo to fiver0013.

I bought this monitor in the fall for a dorm room and later small apartment. I've been incredibly satisfied having it hooked up as an antenna tuning HDTV (better picture than cable, which is often compressed), monitor for my PC, and display for my Xbox 360. To address a few common complaints: 16:10 aspect ratio-- This can't be helped. The model simply predated the current trend in 16:9 monitors. I find the 16:10 vs 16:9 one of the least noticeable distortions. Indeed, I have an eye for picture and I am often fooled. Weak Speakers-- There's audio in (from PC) and audio out (to better speakers) jacks on the monitor. The internal audio quality is roughly that of moderate laptop speakers, so you're certainly better off using the output if you listen to music or watch movies. I set mine up with an old quality Aiwa mini system and it turned out great. Moreover, the monitor outputs audio from whatever source is selected at the time. VGA vs HDMI connection-- I find the VGA connection actually delivers a slightly picture from a PC than the HDMI. Keep the HDMI connection free for something like an Xbox. Remote-- Button layout is actually quite good even if it doesn't feel like a top quality clicker. Actually emits a very strong IR signal. On another note, there's an auto-off feature that activates when the monitor detects no signal from the current input for 20 seconds. In conclusion, this is a perfect solution to combine it all in a small room or dorm room. I couldn't be happier with the purchase, and I've seen none of the issues mentioned in the other reviews. There's no way you could buy all the components (small HDTV, good monitor, even weak speakers) separately at this price. Highly recommended!

These monitors are great. I received them quickly and they looked brand new. Tested the tv part and the picture quality was great.The speakers leave a lot to be desired but most people will have a dedicated sound system. Would recommend them to anyone looking to upgrade their current system.

The sound quality on this item was a major dissapointment for me. It is like listening to a cheap AM radio station...if you are old enough to know what I mean. I receive a better quality sound on my cheap lcd monitor for my computer. Expect to purchase a sound system for this one. On the up side, the picture quality cannot be beat!

Very nice TV, great value, easy setup, good control set. Picture is very sharp on cable, even sharper on DTV. Sound is a bit off, could use better speakers.

If you just need an extra TV for a small room and don't want to spend a lot, this is the set for you. Has lots of inputs including HDMI. Built in speakers are just adequate. If better audio is important you will be dissappointed. The only audio out is an earphone port. External amplified speakers will work from the Earphone out port but each time you switch input sources you have to unplug the external speaker jack and plug it back in, otherwise you get no sound. Also if you mute the sound then un mute it, you have to re plug the speaker wire. Really for the money I can't expect to get everything.

Very nice picture with lots of adjustments for good quality viewing. Has a Picture Mode for Personal Settings. Zoom mode 4:3 is 19" and this size is the only viewable area that shows the entire picture, without some cutting off at the top or bottom. There are four zoom modes; 4:3, (the best setting - which is a 19" viewable picture) Movie scale (good for the old cinemascope movies), Zoom in, and Full. Overall I'm very pleased but I should have bought the 19" instead of 22".

So far, so good worked well as a TV attached to cable box. Warning: The monitor DOES NOT tilt so it may not be suitable for all locations.

i bought the viewsonic as a monitor for my laptop... i started with a dvi-vga cable and it worked very nicely but the color was aweful. I then thought maybe if i purchased a dvi-hdmi cable it would improve... it was worse. But being a photographer i color corrected the monitor for both vga and hdmi and it was a vast improvemnet. vga has a yellow/green cast and hdmi has a magenta cast to it. I find I get a better picture from my vga cable then the hdmi cable... it also had a dead pixel with in two weeks. As a college student I feel this is just a temp monitor for now.

I bought this to work as a TV for my bedroom as well as monitor for my media PC, and it worked exceptionally for both. The screen is very clear and it works flawlessly as a monitor.

This TV has an aspect ratio of 16:10 (not 16:9 as stated on this website). When viewing HDTV channels or watching movies from DVD player connected through HDMI or components, images stretches vertically no matter which wide mode is chosen. It is fine to use as a computer monitor where you can change the resolution on the computer to have a correct display. But as a TV, it is incapble of converting HDTV signals to fit in the screen without distortion.
