I will never, ever, ever return to a CRT! This screen has performed flawlessly for over a year. I think it has one bad pixel, but not sure, that is how unnoticable it is. The screen is bright, the colors are vivid, the blacks are black, text is crisp, images are gorgeous. If you are still lugging that clunky CRT around, stop! While this exact model is no longer available, ViewSonic has plenty more to choose from. It was worth every penny I spent (250 May 2006).

We've purchased thirty of these for our workplace, and everyone's very happy with the units. Yes, the speakers are a bit lame (hence a "4" on performance), but no one is supposed to be cranking up the audio here anyways, so it is nice to not have desktop speakers cluttering up the area. What made this unit standout for us was that it had both VGA and DVI inputs - having our Radeon cards going into the DVI inputs yields an even nicer display. So, for more-or-less the price of regular VGA monitors from quality manufacturers, we also got digital video - sounds like an excellent value to us.

I have been very pleased with the appearance of the monitor. I had read in some other reviews that the speakers were not very good and they were correct. I just plugged my old speakers back up. The monitor is really great and seems to be larger than advertised. I would recommend it to anyone.

Viewsonic, I've always been impressed with their quality, but wow, great color, fast (refresh rate) nice size (19"), and the speakers sound pretty good, too!

Very decent monitor. Initially I was worried that the contrast ratio is 500:1, a bit lower than some other monitors (>700). But it just looks fine (I don't do games so I don't drive the monitor too hard). The reasons for me to buy this one is that you get a DVI and built-in speakers, and price (although buy.com has raised its price by $40 since I bought it). On the last note I don't know if it's still a good deal, so shop around. Quality-wise, I'm very happy with this ViewSonic model.

I have spent 8 hours a day for the last 20 years in front of a computer screen. This is the best I have seen. But... The screen ratio seems too high: like the old TV sets, you get used to vertically stretched faces. Not too bad. The sound is useless. At the maximum value, I can not hear it from 10 feet away and if I sit in front of it, it crackles. I have gone back to the speakers that came with my system.

Being in the web design industry, it was most important for me to have a monitor that displayed colors truely and images without distortion. I am VERY PLEASED with my choice. I would purchase another viewsonic in the future, based soley on this purchase. My purchase (the Viewsonic VA912b 19" monitor)' arrived in 3 days, packed very well and was so easy to setup that I could have let my 4 year old nephew handle it. I give this monitor 5 Stars!

This is a great working monitor from a relaible name in the business. This Viewsonic monitor had no stuck or dead pixels. The built-in speakers are acceptable but are not what I would call high quality audio. The screen performance is great though, and that's what really counts. I highly recommend this Viewsonic monitor over the three different Princeton monitors I bought before this one. I bought 3 other Princeton 19" LCD monitors before this one, and they all had stuck pixels and had to be sent back.

Wow. Just replacing a Viewsonic 19" CRT that died a slow death. I didn't have alot to spend. Found this at a good price and liked the reviews I read. Great monitor. Very bright, might have to turn it a bit down. Very clear, love the added room, even over the 19" CRT. I have been playing BF1942, plays great. I would recommend this highly.

If you are considering this monitor, don't look any further. For the price you can not beat it. I have always purchased Samsung monitors in the past but I will be purchasing all of my future monitors from Viewsonic. This replaced my 19" Samsung CRT and I can not believe the difference. This thing is incredible. The text is crisp and easy to read. The colors are amazing. I am going to purchase a 2nd one shortly.

Nice looking, bright ,fast and cheap monitor. Like the other reviewer said I was worried when it was shipped in its original box. I ran a pixel test and only 1 dead pixel but was fixed by rubbing it. Overall very good monitor for the money.

What a great monitor for a wonderful price! In addition to the already low price for a 19" LCD, I took advantage of a $20 instant rebate. Shipping was fast, and I was already prepared to see FedEx bring my monitor box in no extra packaging, thanks to the other reviews. But it was fine; I opened it up, plugged it in, and started working on a newsletter in QuarkXPress (I'm a graphic designer/desktop publisher, among other things). I've never been able to do the job with such ease! I almost cried, truly. :) The monitor is fantastic -- crisp, clear text, bright colors (I might even adjust the brightness down just a little), and no dead pixels at all. Buy.com -- you have a new fan!

Viewsonic definitely does it again. I replaced my 19" Viewsonic CRT with the 19" Viewsonic LCD and I'm mighty impressed.<br> No ghosting or trails. <br> Quite a bargain during the $20 rebate deal.<br> Built in speakers was a nice space saving feature.<br> And... No dead pixels.

Ok, for all of you who are thinking of buying this Monitor, dont think, just BUY it. This is one great LCD Display..fast and clear crisp colors when using cleartype for XP, that is a must.!. I was using a DELL Ultrasharp, big difference here. Easy to use OSD helps also..Anyhow I am very satisfied and highly recommend this Monitor

This is my first LCD. I have seen many and was not impressed. I had a 19" CRT prior to this and only replaced it because the CRT was too bulky and hot. This monitor has all the quality and more than I expected. I hooked her up via DVI and needless to say WOW. Using my XFX Geforce 6200 with the right settings it rocks. The software that comes in the box is pretty much junk. Used the drivers from their website after the cd failed twice.This thing is so bright I had to turn it down a notch. Has beautiful wide angle view for anyone who enters the computer room. For the money its a great deal.Got it in 3 days with free shipping. I played Q3,CS,Unreal 2003 with no ghosting. DVDs are flawless. Very happy with this and Buy.com

This is my first purchase with Buy.com and I have to say I was totally impressed. The Viewsonic Monitor met all of the criteria that was listed in it's ad. In fact, it's ad doesn't do it any justice. If your in the market to buy a decent monitor without going broke...This Is It!! I shopped around, compared prices and specs on lots of monitors. I recently bought this monitor while at the same time owning a 19" Acer and a 19" Mag LCD. This monitor by far, is the best peformer of the three. It shipped with the necessary items to make hook up and use very simple. The display is really good out of the box, though I will still calibrate it. I ordered on Sunday and received on Wednesday. I was a little shocked to see the FedEx guy bringing it to me in its original boxing without any other protection. After unpacking, all was well.

Was a little skeptical about the performance of this screen, because of the low price. I'm happy to report that this is an amazing crystal clear screen. Mine came without any dead pixels. Analog image quality is average, but plugged into a DVI video card, this monitor really shines. I've not noticed any ghosting in games or videos (unlike my 25ms response time LCD at work). Great value!

My first flat panel, prior to this I used a 17 inch CRT. After reading the reviews, I was a little nervous about finding a "dead pixel" on my new screen. To my surprise, nothing dead in that box! I was blown away by the size, shape, clarity, ease of installment, etc. My dvd's are crisp and clear. My games are as if I'm playing them for the first time! (Far Cry, oh my god!) I'm not an expert on computer monitors. And I am also sure that if you surf long enough, you could probably find someone that will dispute everything that I said. However, I am 100% sure that I made the right decision. Hats off to you ViewSonic!

You just can't beat Buy.com prices and delivery times. Had a big cluncker of a monitor, this saves me a lot of desk space. Bright colors and fast response time, no dead pixels on my unit.

Just got this sweet LCD and it is terrific. Good price and nice fast delivery. Pros: Bright screen and no dead or stuck pixels. Very clear images! Cons: At first it was difficult to open the back panel to insert the DVI and power cable wo/ damaging the unit. But after that it was a piece of cake. Speakers are worthless but who buys LCD's for their speakers!

This arrived quickly & took about 2 minutes to set up & install, it could not have been easier. It is light weight, so it is easy to put anywhere. The screen is crisp & vibrant, I could not have been happier. It is lots better than the Dell unit it replaces......

I had purchased a generic brand before getting this monitor, the generic on had horrible color 16ms response and 1 year warranty, this monitor was only 50 dollars more has amazing color quality, twice the response time and a 3 year warranty! You can't go wrong with it. The picture quality with the DVI input is superb and dont have any problem playing battle field 2 with this unit. For the price it can not be beat!

Great monitor. I'm so glad I didn't pay the extra 20 for 2 business day delievery. Ordered early Monday morning and recieved it around noon Wednesday on regular ground shipping (Shipped from Kentucky to my town near Dayton, OH). Came in original box when shipped (scary at first as mentioned by another reviewer) and for some reason I can't manually change the monitor image size on the screen - but I run games like Day of Defeat: Source, CS:S, and UT2k4 just fine with no ghosting - also had absoluteley no dead pixels... very impressed over all. I love this monitor and it was worth every dime. :D

I have the VA912b hooked up to both a Windows XP machine and a Mac computer, running through a KVM. As soon as it connected to either machine, it ran its autosetup utility and adjusted everything to look great. All I can say is that it is super easy to use. My only problem with it is that the Windows colors were way off, out of the box. They were easy enough to correct with the downloadable color adjustment tool that MS offers for XP. As with any LCD that is running on Windows XP, I would suggest that the user sets up Microsoft's ClearType to get the best user experience. I have not tested the built-in speakers, so I can not vouch for their quality. I can only guess that they sound like one would expect low-cost, built-in speakers to sound. Although the description says that the monitor does not come with a DVI cable, I was pleasantly surprised to find that a DVI cable was included.

I was worried about people saying dead pixel this and ghosting that. Just to let you know - some of these reviews are for the older model. Model I purchased: 8ms, 500:1, 1280x1024 Native, analog and DVI. I had zero dead pixels, showed up in 3 days (counting Sunday) and I paid for 7-9, came in original packaging which worred me at first, but it shipped great. Used the DVI, set to native, and it is the clearest picture I have ever viewed. Half Life 2 was perfect at Native, no ghosting, etc. PLayed Day of Defeat Source and had no ghosting. This is the best monitor for the price out there. White is VERY white. Black is a decent black.

I just connected the Viewsonic VA912b via the DVI connection and it looks great. I played a DVD and the picture was crisp and had no ghosting whatsoever. Having seen a few LCD's, Viewsonic's reputation for great products is well deserved.
