Veteran is the upcoming 3rd solo album by Marques Houston. Houston describes the album as "a reflection of who I am as an artist and as a man. There's a lot that I've been through as far as relationships and just experiencing life. I'm only 25 but I’m veteran because I've been in the industry since I was 8 and I've watched the changes. He also says that he wants everybody knows that he's the man in the artist instead when he was a kid in the artist and he just want get that image out of their heads. Guest appearances on he album include Mýa, Shawnna and Yung Joc. There will be production from The Underdogs, Bryan Michael Cox and Rufus Black, among others. There have been 2 singles released from album Like This feat. Yung Joc and the ballad Favorite Girl. The album was pushed back to give Houston time to cope with the death of his grandmother. Houston had a hand in writing all of the songs on the albums expect for "Wonderful" which was written by Ne-Yo. Ne-Yo & Houston also worked together on Houston's debut solo "That Girl" in 2002. The honey-voiced singer got his start in the mid-1990s with the R&B boy band Immature, and raised expectations with his 2003 solo debut, MH, and its follow up, 2005's NAKED. VETERAN has a more stripped-down sound than its predecessors, but it retains the singer's confident yet sensitive approach on smooth after-hours jams like "Favorite Girl" and the sexy "How You Just Gonna."
