 Editor's Note
Set in Neptune, California, VERONICA MARS is a popular TV drama that follows the fortunes of a 17-year-old trainee private investigator. Neptune is full of powerfully rich residents, many of whom believe they are above the law. Fortunately Veronica, who was propelled into a life of crime-fighting after her best friend, Lilly, was murdered, is on hand to ensure that justice is served, much to the annoyance of the Neptunians who find themselves frequently foiled in their devious plans. Veronica's father is the former sheriff of Neptune, who found himself removed from office after alleging that Lilly's father was responsible for his daughter's death. Now, together with Veronica, he runs a local private investigation business, while also ensuring that his daughter doesn't neglect her high school duties. A long-standing subplot that runs through the show is Veronica's attempts to clear her father's name, which only leads to further evidence of enormous corruption and deceit in a neighborhood that seems littered with criminal activity. The entire second season of the show is collected here.

Weekly 7 of 10 It's tempting to play marketer and describe the new UPN show Veronica Mars as Buffy the Vampire Slayer meets Raymond Chandler. But in this smart, engaging series about a former popular girl turned crime-solving high school outcast, the hard-boiled dialogue comes from its teen protagonist's mouth in a way that stabs any potential cutesiness in the heart with an ice pick.

5 of 5 Move over O.C. Veronica Mars is the best teen dra Thursday, November 02, 2006 Tyler from Seattle, WA
Veronica Mars is back on the case for a new year. As typical for new programs, the show was a little sluggish to start it's sophomore season, but found it's groove quickly. The second season lacked as compelling a story arc as the initial (fantastic) season, but the show remains one of the most well-written stories on TV.
The addition of Charisma Carpenter added some nice eye candy to an already handsome cast, and Kristen Bell is eminently watchable. The characters are a little too precocious in their thought processes for typical teenagers, but that's a forgivable offense as virtually every teen drama does the same thing to hold the 20's demographic.
The dynamic relationship between Veronica and her dad is the driving force for the show, and is always a kick. And the show does not seem to suffer the affliction of massive melodrama meltdown that every other current teen drama seems mired in. Veronica Mars is an up-beat, charming, funny show which has a relatively small but very loyal fan base. Don't miss out! Was this review helpful?

This show is excellent! The plot is amazing and it's actually not all that predictable like some shows. You just want to keep watching episode after episode. Great buy and I highly recommend it! Was this review helpful?
